Where this motion goes Fred Small 29.06.23 - 29.07.23 Opening Wed 28 June 5:30pm Sound is a reminder of life itself and the substance of the world, in all its movements, displacements, and vibrations. ‘Where this motion goes’ is an exploration into the physical presence of sound and its ability to change, create and imagine worlds. From dance floors shared with hundreds of people to the individual experience of music in headphones, sound is a tool we return to endlessly. _________________ Fred Small is a Te Whanganui-a-Tara based artist and writer. Working across sound, moving image, and installation, he explores the spaces we inhabit—those technological, queer, and surreal. He releases music and DJ’s under the moniker raptAGOG, works at CIRCUIT Artist Moving Image, and also as a support worker. He is a recent graduate of Massey University’s BFA (Hons) programme and is a facilitator at play_station, this is his first solo show.
