VILNELĖ💚Throwback to 2024 @vilnele.paris - the very first Lithuanian pop-up eatery in Paris🍸🍽️But not only⛲️the year my daughter Ona learned to walk, I plunged in a true love project for the home food and the community🥒 followed by a Baltic region food research and @chbarts residency. In these distorted times, we were looking for the true tastes and stories of our cuisine. Book launch with contributors
Jonas Prapuolenis STUDIJA

19:00, Wednesday, 11 September 2024
After 8 Books
7 rue Jarry ÷ 75010 Paris

Dear friends we are so pleased to invite you to Paris launch of our new book - Jonas Prapuolenis STUDIJA:

This publication serves as a photographic document and proposal to preserve Jonas Prapuolenis’ (1900–1980) hand-built Studio in which he designed and produced most of his work over a remarkable and inventive career. The Studio sits on a nearly century-old site in the Žaliakalnis neighbourhood of Kaunas (Lithuania) alongside Prapuolenis’ home and surrounding garden, which continue to be cared for by his son, Bangutis Prapuolenis.

Jonas Prapuolenis was a designer, artist, and educator who interpreted the textures and qualities of local timber, and its particular, unique structures and patterns shaped by the local climate and terrain and translated its geometries into artistic furniture pieces.

“I was fascinated by Wei Gao long healthy hair. It was as if something sacred, like a film carrying information of her life. It was something very balanced and steady, an energy or form of strength. The combination of Wei’s personality and her field of interest added depth to our story here,” commented Rasa @vogueitalia with @carljancruz 💙 @reneeultado @_____alfonso #carljancruz #rasaj #vogueitalia #sustainablefashion #college #paris #metro #fashion #photography #art

“There was a strong appreciation for the clothes as well as in the beauty in real people. They carry feeling and energy which can transcend from an image. We imagined the finishings and texture of the fabric to match the character who wears it and in this case, we saw the ends of the garment like strands of Wei Gao’s hair” beautiful designs of @carljancruz for @vogueitalia with @reneeultado and @_____alfonso #paris #carljancruz #fashion #metro #art #collage #hair #photography #rasaj #vogueitalia #sustainablefashion
