I am honored to visit @audacy’s headquarters in New York City representing my college radio station @wmscradio! Along with my fellow radio hosts, we networked with radio professionals from various stations in NYC and got personal tours from @wfansportsradio and @1010wins radio stations where we were able to see how it operates behind-the-scenes. As a female student-athlete going into a career in sports communication, it was amazing getting the opportunity to go behind the board and chat with @rami.lavi. I loved hearing his experience with board opping for BT and Sal and hosting his own Jets podcast. Thank you Rami!

Today is the day! By transitioning from a School to a College, CCOM will have increased national visibility, more opportunities for students, and additional leadership and development opportunities for faculty and staff as part of New Jersey’s second-largest higher education institution. “This exciting change will impact our entire CCOM community,” said Dr. Keith Strudler, Dean of the College of Communication and Media. “I am grateful for the continued efforts of our talented faculty and staff, and I am truly looking forward to growing the national profile and impact of this College while forging the future of our collective fields.” While there’s more to come in the months ahead, check out this short video from Dean Strudler and our students! #MontclairCCOM #redhawkpride

Montclair in Costa Rica — Day 3 Day began with bright sunshine as we visited the soon-to-be new stadium for the Herediano fútbol team. We were expecting to photograph a team practice, but due to a media blackout ahead of Wednesday night’s championship match (which we’ll be attending), that wasn’t possible. Still, team officials gave us a tour of the construction site—which looked impressive—and even interviewed some of our students. Ole Ole Ole Ole. Afterward, we headed to Chinatown for lunch, just before the afternoon rains rolled in. We took shelter singing a rendition of Despacito before heading over to the Central Market, exploring its labyrinth of vendors and local goods. I discovered my new favorite dessert. The students wandered around the marketplace, shooting video and photographs Sorbetera de Lolo Mora, a spice infused sorbet, delicious. We wrapped up the night with some salsa dancing lessons—and a new culinary curiosity: the Walking Taco (taco fillings served over Doritos). Who knew? I didn’t try one, but I’ll admit—it looked better than expected. With @montclairincostarica @csherediano1921 #montclairstateuniversity #montclairabroad #montclairscm #futbol #herediano

Montclair in Costa Rica — Day 2: Today we explored Irazú, the tallest volcano in Costa Rica. Incredibly, CR has 132 volcanoes, with 5 considered active—including Irazú, which is sometimes called Virazú. We originally planned to visit Poás Volcano, but due to recent activity, the government has restricted access. Fortunately, Irazú delivered an unforgettable experience, with low clouds drifting across its moonlike landscape. We also met up with other Montclair State groups. Along the road trip, we saw local soccer and spotted some roadside “wildlife”—including exotic creatures like cows and horses 😄. Later, we stopped in the nearby town of Cartago to visit the stunning Basílica de Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles, a breathtaking site with a shrine and a piazza. The day was filled with storytelling moments and plenty of great photographs captured along the way.
