for the one year anniversary of me and @cafecito_chris doing these events around brookyln was something so special.

december 7th marked the one year anniversary of doing the cultural coffee events in brooklyn. thank you so much for the community that has been built around these and the support that has been given to these events.

to be able to highlight coffee from the carribean (jamaica, haiti, and dominican republic). it was so beautiful to see so many coffee folks learn and enjoy coffee from these culturally rich islands. i never thought that coffee could bring me closer to my jamaican roots, it has been such an experience.

thank you to @driftawaycoffee for allowing us to host our event in your space!

thank you @xaymacacoffee @876javaco @doncarvajalcafe @coffeehunterproject
@izem_co for sponsoring such amazing carribean coffees for this event!

a special thank you @l0venatalia you were such a driving force in helping out with roasting, cupping, and making points of connection for this event to come through! also for being an awesome co-host to spread awareness about the hurricane that hit jamaica.

thank you @maxiethebarista @slinkyzim and nick for working the coffee stations

thank you darlene for the beautiful photographs for this event

love this community and save the date for feb 28th 😜

Recreated some photos of family lore, visited best buds in Kearny, toured the cosmos and rightly questioned the obviously questionable art of taxidermy, beheld one of the finest rooms Americans have built (and was unimpressed with skyscrapers), ate various pork products including at the new Jing Fong (lovely, small), slid, slipped, schlepped, and we all saw old friends, including a Miracle on 34th Street involving the rock band Phish. Love you, city.

Christmas looked a bit different for me this year. Woke up at 6:30am and jumped on the direct flight to LA from RDM to visit my dad on his birthday. Tony was working. Hillside Memorial Park in Culver City is so beautiful and a perfect spot for my dad to be layed to rest. My very best companion in life was in town visiting her family and came to pick me up and was equipped with all the things necessary to celebrate his and Cathie's lives. There were flowers, Pinot noir, apple pie with a candle, love, memories and all the feels. Then we went to a perfect dinner, had some drinks, giggled, and shared more stories. I'm now back at airport heading home. All in a beautiful day! Happy birthday Dad and Merry Christmas to all! ❤️

Hello beautiful people! It’s finally happening! As some of you may or may not know (bc I’m horrible at posting) I’m opening a coffee shop! Woooo

This journey has been wild in the best way, and I’m endlessly grateful for every person who helped make it real. Truly couldn’t have done this without you. Thanks to @titangroupny we’re rooted in the East Village, and I’m so excited to bring great coffee and a fresh experience to the neighborhood. This shop is for baristas. The place I always wished existed when I was coming up in the coffee scene. Which also makes it sentimental for me.

Soooooo we’re aiming to open on Monday 12/15, but as anyone who speaks fluent NYC construction knows, that translates to: “maybe, hopefully, not yet, please universe…. OK GO!” So we’re almost there, and doing everything we can to make it official.

No matter what, we WILL open. We’re here to be your third space, your coffee haven, your spot to nerd out with other coffee people. And we. Cannot. WAIT.

Hours are generally mon-fri 8a-1p, sat-sun 9a-4p but we’ll play it by ear as we find our groove.

Check out the site to see everything we’re building, and thank you again for being a part of this. See you soon at
45 E 1st St!
