We’ve been a little quiet on the gram as we escaped with our youngest boys- and soaked in some time with each other in our favourite place. Time with nature to pause, reflect and recharge - it’s my favourite place to be creative and brainstorm- to sit amongst the trees and dream and plan- and to breathe. While you don’t see us as much in the day to day cafe scenes, we are always “on” and we are in the behind scenes and after hours - growing, steering and creating- planning, sharing and creating- fixing, rebuilding and maintaining- while our incredible teams take care of you , our guests. The time has come….. We’ve softly returned to dine in seating as of Aug 23rd- its been so great to “see” you all !!!! We are operating at reduced capacity, our staff is still masked for your protection and ours, *we ask that you would do the same for us while moving about the cafe/ but we are not here to argue or to police it* We are excited to serve you inside again and we welcome you with big smiles behind these masks- we are passionate about what we do and spending time with you sharing that passion is our greatest delight. We are open bright & early at 7am still for all you early birds- Curbside pick up and takeaway of course remain as an option, as well as our sidewalk seating. We are running on reduced hours closing at 6pm to help keep our team fresh as we move thru this next phase of growth. Joy~Connection ~Coffee Mon-Sat 7am-6pm Sun 7am-4pm See you soon friends!!!

Happy New Year!!! From our family to yours!! While 2020 may have set many challenges in motion, we are truly grateful and thankful for our amazing community and all the support and love you sent our way. There was many positives to take from all we learned along the way- the challenges I’m not going to dwell on. We’ve adapted, we have moved forward and we are setting new plans in motion. Our incredible work family has embraced and supported our every thought and idea , while faced with such uncertain times- all while smiling and handling the pressures of the situations gracefully. We are looking forward to 2021 but more importantly we are just embracing “today” and each day as it comes. Every single day is a gift, every single moment an opportunity - there’s zero expectations , only appreciation for our guests, for our suppliers and roasting partners and for all we have learned. Here’s our why, our how, our everything. The very reason behind our new logo for a City Perks and name of our new cafe, Sparrow Coffee- FIVE is our number- it’s now yours too. We have tried to position ourselves in every decision we have made in our 13 years in business, to always lead with love. It’s not always easy, and right now this is likely the most difficult decision from a “business” perspective to make, yet from a caring and compassionate human being, it feels right. Please be kind, please understand and please know there’s no judgement here for others doing something different. Please support and encourage our cafes as we move to set “pause” on our dine in service as of November 20th while our province is faced with rising covid numbers. This is a gut wrenching decision to make as we are very “fearful” of losing any momentum on the dollar scale yet we are wanting to be proactive and take care of the very community we have worked so hard to build, and create, as well as caring for our incredible work family - who at 27 strong, need to know their jobs are secure too. The anxiety over the past eight months takes it toll, we have followed and will continue to follow all our usual protocols, but now we ask you to choose curbside pick up, takeaway as you will still be allowed inside to order, and soon delivery. Please know how much love it’s taken for us to make this decision. To care for our community, we’ve been asked to keep gathering to a minimum and we know, human nature sets in and we think little meet ups at coffee shops etc don’t count, but for us they do. So let’s work together to see if we can help bring some relief to our friends in health care, who are asking for a chance to get these numbers back under some form of control. Please don’t pass judgement. We’ve heard it all. It’s weighed on us heavy, just continue to love on us, and all the people we are so fortunate to call our work family and let’s make sure we can keep all 27 at both cafes, healthy, employed and growing - with all our ideas, hopes and dreams so we can all be a part of something pretty damn special when we see the other side of this pandemic hopefully coming to a close.
