SAT 30/5 – Kasper Marott (DK)

What better way to close out the month of May than with a long-awaited debut at Kaiku? Arriving from Copenhagen, we have none other than Kasper Marott gracing us with his presence. No stranger to Finland, many remember his killer set from last year’s Solstice Festival and earlier this year he played in Oulu as well. Now appearing in the south of Finland for the first time, and on the cusp of summer, it is a perfect pairing really. Marott’s sound strikes that wonderous balance between euphoria and nostalgia combined with an unflinching view towards futural sonic horizons.

It is techno, but coated with a hazy, dreamy layer of effervescence, much like an early summer night. To further explore and spread this sound, he is a co-founder of Axces, a Copenhagen-based collective and label, on which he has released his two albums. Joining Marott in the booth is a potent blend that might be your new favorite cocktail: take one part Emkay, two parts Justus Valtanen & Daniel Kayrouz, shake well and whaddayouknow? You got yourself a party. Warehouse Kids take over room two with DJ Ukko Olavi, DØNLØW, ANNIKA and NEMESIS.
