That’s a wrap on Sonic Presence! In its final month, we were joined by Raúl Romero (@rauoool) for a sound activation with his sculpture, “Music for Plants, by Plants,” followed by a screenprinting workshop.

During the performance, participants joined hands to create a human circuit and experience a data translation of energy as it flowed through the plant and those connected to one another. In using their bodies, we each joined the plant as instrument, performer, and audience.

Next Saturday, join us for an exclusive sound activation by Philadelphia-based artist Raúl Romero (@rauoool).

Help us create a human circuit and listen to a data translation captured in real-time by the plant in his sculpture as energy flows through those connected to one another. Following the performance, head to the studio to screenprint a t-shirt commemorating this unique listening experience.

Did we mention it’s free!? RSVP at the link in bio.

Saturday, December 16
Choose from two sessions: 2–3 pm and 3:30–4:30 pm

The Fabric Workshop and Museum

Conducting Connections: A Sound Activation

Join Philadelphia-based artist Raúl Romero for an activation of his work, Music for Plants by Plants, followed by a screenprinting workshop.

During the performance, the sound sculpture within the installation will be sonified by Romero, who will translate the data captured by the plant into real-time sound.

Viewers will be invited to join in to create a human circuit and listen to a data translation of energy as it flows through those connected to one another.

A screenprinting opportunity will follow each listening session.

Organized in conjunction with Sonic Presence (or Absence): Sound in Contemporary Art.
