We teamed up with @calgaryclimatehub on Neighbour Day to hit up all the central Neighbour Day celebrations - by Bike Bus! Featured here are the Art Block Party by the Climate Justice Collective / Climate Hub and the 15th Ave bike lane opening celebration by @bikecalgary. Many thanks to Steve, Ambre and Calgary Climate Hub volunteers for putting this delightful ride together.

Our contribution? Data.

We invited people to map how they felt at each stop along the ride - an exercise called Mood Mapping that has led to tangible changes to the built environment in the past. We also asked what bike busers would change at each location to make it feel better. Read more about it in the blog - link in our bio! Don’t forget to check out the Climate Hub’s event page for more rides to come.

“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, return unto the Lord thy God”

Assistant Conductor Daniel Browne led our singers in a runthrough of Thomas Tallis’ “Lamentations of Jeremiah” at last weekend’s rehearsals. This year’s Good Friday performance will pair this polyphonic masterwork with a contemplative program of monumental works by Bach, Nystedt, and Herbert Howells.

Join us this Friday at ‘Lamentations’

It’s here! The Martindale Calm Collector in 3-D, adjacent to Ecole la Mosaique and Manmeet Singh Bhullar. This is the first #trafficcalming of its kind on a Collector road in #yyc, and includes a combination of painted and raised curb bumpouts, planters, and colourful seating along the school route.

This project took perseverance, and contributions from sooo many people. Many thanks to the funders whose contributions enabled us to extend our timeline, ensuring the kids in #ward5 could see the fruits of their labour, and make their school routes more safe and fun: @calgfoundation @activateyyc @fedyyc

Thank you to @everactiveab for the incredible work you do with kids collecting data and developing School Travel Plans - we should have your programs in every school!

Thank you to the kids for your precedent-setting and award-winning street redesign concepts, and to @triptykaur for so artfully crafting them into the first set of drawings. #elm #msb @ymcacalgary @yycbedu

Srimal, your determination and experience enabled this project to become a reality - and a delightful experience along the way! @johnnigiovanni, you went above and beyond with gorgeous design work, mural coordination, and clocking long days in the sun. @afrinislamd we loved your planting palettes and beautiful informational materials - soon to be featured! And many thanks for bringing in the reinforcements. ;)

Fabricators Keith Simmons and @yrkypk, you brought Tripty’s and the kids’ ideas to life with elegant and durable street furniture.

Volunteers, we are so grateful - and at times incredulous - for your contributions. You made this work possible and so much fun! Getting to know you is one of the highlights of this work.

Many thanks to school staff for their patience, dedication, and volunteer hours + resources so graciously offered.

@westhillhurstpaint - you’ve made so many of our projects shine! @eaglelakenurseries , you literally bring them to life. 💚🌱

Thank you @cityofcalgary for partnering, and supporting on permitting, traffic planning and design.
