A lot of people don’t know the studies and steps that happen behind the scenes of a tattoo process.

Generally speaking, here’s mine:

I sketch my composition, and once I’m happy with the balance, I color it according to a specific color palette. Usually I use colors that I learned from manga courses. They emit emotion and structure (very shallow description).

I write down the way I want to tackle the tattoo, how I want the colors to merge and I also put notes for things I need to watch out for. We never stop learning.

I always hand draw my stencil, I want to know how it’s drawn and I feel like I’m training for the tattoo. I want clean empty stencils that I can fill up. At this stage, I always make many tweaks.
