This year’s flagship Farm to Crag (@farmtocrag) Yosemite Gathering was one for the books!

Farm to Crag’s mission is simple: replace industrial food systems with regenerative ones that protect farmers, soil, and the public lands we love. This year at Raw Roots Farm (@rawrootsfarm) we went deep on soil science and looked at healthy soil under microscopes, learned about organic wine and ocean foraging, and picked up some climbing efficiency skills from Josh Warton and Tyler Karow (@tylerkarow), all against the backdrop of Yosemite’s inspiring granite walls. Thanks, Farm to Crag and Raw Roots Farm, for hosting another delicious event.

Oh yeah, and Farm to Crag is following the seasonal dirtbag migration and heading to Index, Washington next! If you missed out on the Yosemite Gathering, link up with them on July 11th at Carnation Farms (@carnationfarms) for a day exploring the magic of food.

About 5 years ago, our friend @liljabee introduced us to @farmtocrag —a climber-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit that inspires action on climate change by connecting the outdoor community with local, sustainable, and regenerative food systems.

After every gathering we’ve participated in @rawrootsfarm or elsewhere we leave incredibly inspired, informed, motivated, and grateful for the enduring friendships we’ve kept to this day. This organization truly brings together everything we love!

Many members of the Farm To Crag community have joined us in the vineyard and cellar over the years, so it was a full circle moment and true honor to create a collaboration wine together this year.

We are very excited to share that we are now offering this special Farm To Crag bottling through our website, and that 100% of net proceeds will go to Farm To Crag in support of its mission.

This wine is made entirely from grapes we farm in Santa Ynez Valley and the SLO Coast. We blended select Syrah, Pinot, and rosé barrels into a vibrant and juicy, chillable red wine we coined the ‘Field Blend Red.’ Big thanks to renowned artist and climber @jer.collins for the beautiful label art!

The Yosemite Gathering, in many ways, does not reflect the language of an “event.” Far from singular, it feels closer to a temporary ecosystem. Climbers, farmers, chefs, scientists, artists, educators, and families gathering around a shared question: What does reciprocity actually look like and how can regenerative agriculture be a pathway to fight climate change? Not as abstraction, but as practice. In soil. In food systems. In movement. In community. In the choices that shape everyday life. 🌱

Most importantly, we gathered around a shared question: How can we create more reciprocal relationships with the places, people, and food systems that sustain us? Let’s keep the momentum going.
