You’re Missing the Point of Mobility 🙆‍♂️

Mobility IS NOT flexibility 🙅🏻‍♀️

Mobility IS NOT a test 🙅🏿‍♂️

Mobility IS NOT injury prevention 🤕

Mobility = Access

For athletes, especially rotational athletes, huge often crazy ranges of motion are seen in sporting movements. However, developing circus level mobility to look cool stretching or thinking it means you’ll never get hurt is wrong and not the goal. The goal is to create the MOVEMENT OPTIONS necessary to EXPRESS FORCE.

In these examples for rotational athletes, hip internal rotation, hip external rotation, pelvic dissociation, thoracic rotation, and thoracic extension are all vitally important. They are important to create access to positions that allow the athletes to express the forces necessary to perform and to dissipate forces during deceleration across larger ranges of motion to increase the likelihood of staying healthy.

Force and outputs are ALWAYS the goal, but sometimes the road to get there is better positions not better squats. 💪🏻
