Meet the creative team behind our next main production ‘1984?’
👁️
Director: Calvin Magee
Movement Director: Dr. Subhashini Goda
Clown Mentor: Raymond Keane
Cinematography: Jaro Waldeck
Dramaturg: Kate Bauer
Lighting Design: Sophie Cassidy
Composer: Kevin Cumiskey
Projection Design: Andrew Browne

Directed by Calvin Magee, this adaptation of George Orwell’s iconic novel explores a world where creativity is banned, individuality is forbidden, and every move is monitored. Blending song, music, dance, multimedia, and clowning, the production invites audiences into a world that is both unsettling and strangely familiar. Challenging the way we think, live, and communicate, this play asks us to question the world around us and, perhaps more importantly, the world we may be heading towards.

Supported by the Arts Council of Ireland and created in partnership with An Táin Arts Centre.

We spent this week rehearsing in the wonderful @roscommonartscentre and we were delighted to have Hill of the Hares production team members Raymond Keane @raymondhehim and Lisa Sweeney @lisasweeney.studio join us! We can’t wait to bring Hill of the Hares to Roscommon in September ✨ Big thank you to the Roscommon Arts Centre for your kindness and support 💚

Fregoli Theatre in association with the Mick Lally Theatre @themicklallytheatre and Roscommon Arts Centre @roscommonartscentre presents Hill of the Hares - a lyrical and haunting exploration of love, loss, and the enduring pull of home from Roscommon native Maria Tivnan. Rooted in the Irish landscape, this evocative new play asks audiences to listen to the earth, reflecting on where we come from, and what may call us back.

Hungry Ghosts is loading,
Meaning it’s deep in the trenches of research phase :]

A piece about longing, liminal space and the void that lives in all of us : relentlessly croaking to be filled.

Heres some clips from the early days last year at The Irish Aerial Dance Festival/ @earagailartsfestival

I’ve since recruited a few more ghosts to the space we call “The Basement” and it’s been a bit of a journey.

Some of the team go back to Kyoto next week to continue the research joined by @asami_yasumot at the beautiful @kansaiaerial with a sharing at @urbanguild on June 12th.
