Tiffany, thank you for the opportunity to collaborate with you it was an honor to sponsor the floral arrangements for the Survivor’s Ball Runway. ✨ It was truly an honor for Gracefull.flowers to be part of something that represents so much life, growth, and possibility.

RJ! Thank you for capturing the heart of people’s stories so well. And being beside you at this event was and is a complete gift. Where we both are is beyond what we prayed for.

And a special thank you to Liv for bringing us together and making the introduction. I’m grateful for the connections that make meaningful collaborations possible and for the opportunity to contribute to this chapter. I look forward to witnessing all that continues to grow from this in the years to come. 🙌☀️

Pure magic at the Obama Presidential Center this past Sunday for the XL Film Festival! 🎥✨

I had the honor of being on the media team for XL FEST, shooting a day full of powerful conversations, incredible energy, and Black storytelling on full display. From panels to portraits, I got to point my lens at @larenztate
and his brothers, @anthonyanderson , and so many other phenomenal panelists — all while standing in a space built to honor legacy and possibility.

None of this happens without @troyopryor , the visionary who built XL FEST from the ground up and continues to push it into something bigger every year. And a huge thank you to @directedbyericalmond , the man who brought me into this experience and trusted me with the camera for the day.

But honestly? The best part was the people. I met and connected with so many beautiful creatives — photographers, filmmakers, storytellers — all pouring into each other and the culture. That kind of community is rare, and I’m grateful I got to capture it.

XL FEST, thank you for having me. Already looking forward to next year. 🎬✨

Thursday, August 20, 2026 | XL Film Fest Day One 🎬🖤 @creativecypher

Chicago, it’s time to tune in because XL Film Fest ’26 is officially here, and The BlackSallie Experience was outside!

Thursday’s opening-day experience at the Chicago Cultural Center felt like more than a film festival. It honestly felt like a family reunion. I got to reconnect with so many of my friends and people I’ve worked with throughout Chicago’s film and entertainment industry. I also got to see the beautiful and talented Ruby Gld Smoke. Everywhere I turned, I saw another familiar face, another creative, and another person working hard to help move Chicago’s entertainment community forward.

The day included the XL Lab stage reading of Marathon, where I finally had the opportunity to meet @tayytheactor in person. Although many people recognize him as Kato from the Tyrant movies and television series, Keante’s work extends far beyond one character. He is an actor, writer, director, and Chicago creative who continues to build his legacy through authentic storytelling. Meeting him after watching and supporting his work through a screen was definitely a full-circle moment for me.Another special moment was meeting Resa Luster-Mac, a third-generation leader behind Luster’s Pink. I had the opportunity to personally thank her for her family’s contributions to the Black community. Luster Products has remained Black-owned, family-operated, and rooted in Chicago since 1957. That type of legacy deserves to be acknowledged and protected.

Luster’s Pink was also one of the sponsors of the XL Fest experience, which made the partnership feel even more meaningful. A historic Black-owned Chicago company supporting a festival dedicated to Black filmmakers, creators, and storytellers is exactly what reinvesting in our community should look like. And yes, they took care of us! We had sliders, sandwiches, Patrón cocktails, and D’USSÉ cocktails while everyone connected, networked, laughed, and enjoyed the evening. The atmosphere was grown, welcoming, and full of genuine love. Nobody felt unreachable. It was a room filled with people exchanging ideas, celebrating one another, and building real relationships
