I never thought I would be able to have this experience, but I’m so glad it happened. This week was filled with laughs and fun. This was a unique experience that will never be recreated, being able to represent my family with my cousin Raysha, the hangout at Steak ‘n Shake, the collective nervousness yet unity before our interviews. I have rekindled friendships with people I hadn’t talked to in a bit, and strengthened friendships with others. This was truly a blessing.

Senior Sunday looks a little different this week.
What a blessing this season has been. Winning Homecoming Queen is something I will cherish forever, but what means the most to me has never been the crown itself. It’s the people, the connections, and the love that made this experience so meaningful. This school has given me people who have shaped my heart and memories I’ll carry long after these four years come to an end.

Never in a million years did I expect to be standing here. I never played a sport or scored a game-winning point, but I’ve always hoped to make an impact in a different way. I made it my goal to make people feel seen, heard, and understood. To notice, to listen, to include, and to remind others that they matter. This experience has reminded me that a heart for others can leave just as lasting an impact as any trophy or title.

You never truly know what someone is going home to, what battles they’re fighting in silence, or how much courage it took just to show up that day. A little kindness or a genuine conversation can mean more than you’ll ever know. Never underestimate the power of making someone feel like they belong.

You might be the only glimpse of Jesus someone sees, the only kindness they receive that day, or the only person who reminds them they matter. So shine your light. Love people intentionally. Choose compassion over judgment, inclusion over popularity, and grace over gossip. You don’t have to do something extraordinary to make an extraordinary difference.

Years from now, people may forget who was popular, what someone wore, or what material things they had. But they will never forget how you made them feel. Be a friend to the friends who don’t always have a friend. Notice the people everyone else overlooks. Never let an opportunity to make someone feel loved pass you by.

I hope that when people remember me, they remember less about a crown and more about a heart that tried to make a difference. I’ll forever be grateful for this school, the people who made it home, and the opportunity to experience a season I never could have imagined.

The win was a moment, but the way you love people is a legacy.
