Guitarist for Six Feet Under, Gematria and Colepitz

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Last year I went to a Six Feet Under show and was pleasantly surprised to see their guitar player, @raysuhy, shredding a Suhr Modern. After talking with him a bit he had some ideas for some sweet customs that led to the builds that you see here. Ray is a monster player playing everything from death metal to jazz. 🤘🏼

GEMATRIA’s hypnotically riveting, intricately crafted, wholly singular progressive self-titled debut was released three years ago today. A collaboration between Ray Suhy (Six Feet Under, Cannabis Corpse, ex-East Of The Wall) and Steve Honoshowsky (Daughter Vision, Billy Martin’s Fang Percussion, No Use For Humans), the duo composes by utilizing a Qabbalistic numerological system of relating words to numbers, and the writings of Aleister Crowley to help generate rhythmic and melodic ideas.

"This pushes the boundaries of instrumental music much further. Like, this is something that you could hear in your nightmares, this is something you could hear on an acid trip […] If Salvador Dali or Jackson Pollock were to make an album, it would be an album that sounds like this." - Heavy New York

"This adept Red Bank, NJ-based duo deliver delicious sounds thanks to their experimental avant-garde rock that’s infused with electronic, synth, and even jazz. Welcome to the sonic world of GEMATRIA." - PureGrainAudio

"Writing about music, the saying goes, is like dancing about architecture… but rarely has music defied description quite the way GEMATRIA’s material does. It’s… gothic, progressive electro-mathgaze-jazzcore? […] We guarantee it is the most thought-provoking, unique thing you will hear today. And probably this week. And likely this month. Very possibly this year." - MetalSucks

On our first release of September, CANNABIS CORPSE delivered a deadly dose of brutal death metal with their new album 'Left Hand Pass'. 'Left Hand Pass' sees the band, led by Phil "LandPhil" Hall (MUNICIPAL WASTE) and his twin brother Josh "Hallhammer" Hall, joined by SIX FEET UNDER guitarist Ray Suhy and his prodigious six-string talents.

Under the influence of the genre legends who preceded them, the trio give rise to an unrelenting piece of crushing, weed-themed death replete with their signature, THC-fueled horror fiction lyrics. 'Left Hand Pass' is another massive step-forward for the band and a monumental piece of U.S. Death Metal.

This. Album. KILLS! Hear for yourself at CannabisCorpseofficial.bandcamp.com
