Worlds colliding 💫

I was in Atlanta for a couple days for work (day-job , ya know, the one that pays the bills)
… in telecomm engineering we have an annual conference ( SCTE/EXPO ) for us to peruse new tech, engage in conversations, discuss streaming bandwidth needs, troubleshoot & solve problems, etc. 📺 • 💻 • 🛜

It has always been great to reconnect with colleagues that I’ve been working with for decades, and also to connect with newer colleagues that have been virtual.

Enroute, I ran into Chris Jericho at the airport, that was fun and unexpected … we’ve been planning “An Evening With … “ in the future for awhile now, and I managed a pitstop for lunch with my son Jacen 🖤

As I said, worlds collide …
… or maybe it’s multitasking 🤣

Anyway, in years gone by there were sponsored “events”, at the SCTE/EXPO, some were incredible actually, but, in the current economy and landscape there are no big celebration “parties” really anymore …
There wasn’t one last year in DC either. 🤷‍♂️

So, I went to a show at a nearby venue I’ve fostered a connection with (Thanks Rae & Rodney for the hospitality). We had just done a Titanium Tart show there 9/13, and previously with Saigon Kick and Soto/Bieler 🤘🏻💜🤘🏻

I was unfamiliar with the artists on the markee, but what i heard has continued to resonate. I got to see a sold-out show, on a Wednesday night that had three solo women artists performing to an engaged and devoted audience.

I’ve been thinking about, their individualism, their empowerment and also their unity & strength.

One sang a song about “always choosing the bear”
… it was powerful.

Maybe this feeds into the narrative agenda I believe in and vote for, maybe not. 🤷‍♂️

The next day, I found out that a dear friend from high school passed … I believe from medical complications, but I don’t know for sure yet. 😢 💔 #FuckCancer

🚐 I found the USPO van peculiar 📨

We live in a very weird world; we’re more connected now than ever, and still radically divided.

Strangers we will never meet divide us, it’s frustrating they have that much power over our connections & unity.

I lean into #Hope and #Change … mostly.

Weekend dump 😬👉🏻👈🏻
Hiking Bowman Island Trail, working @centerstageatl , seeing @emarosa , nonchalantly meeting Spencer Chamberlain with @charming_cheeks (iykyk), dancing for 4 hours straight with @rayyyysam 😂, and ending the weekend in downtown Marietta with wonderful peeps.
Good people + good vibes all around. ☺️
