The Head of the Kevin series wrapped up today, with Sarah and Gabriel taking the top honors, both in the club singles. Here with the mastermind, Kevin, and the master craftsman who’s made every medal in the series, Rich.

No head of the Kurmakov this year due to the storms, all the more reason to be happy to see Women’s sweeps take the Kurmakov trophy for best scoring sweep boat.

Don’t sleep on men’s sweeps, either. They even have their very own Kevin M..

Ashton and Mats took top honors for men’s doubles. Tina and Alexis won the overall, but were rowing, so Matt and I had to accept on their behalf.

Sixto won best breakfast item for his magnificent fresh oysters.

Brian and Herenow have been supporting HOK for years.

@mitlwrw x Riverside

Ernest keeps finding fast lineups. Mike was a very capable prize giver (and organizer).

More prizes for the Portilla family (this one for best youth)

Chief Volunteer Wrangler Sarah and Breakfast Tzar Kate

He can model, too!

Pre-race sunrise

Sean spoke about why Riverside is important to him, and to thank everyone for their support. Reminder, you can still help him fundraise to cover the cost of the trip to Worlds for him and coach Dave.

A few more gray hairs, but otherwise, Kent looks exactly the same.

What other regatta has fresh oysters for breakfast?

Proving once again, that it’s the horse, not the chariot, Kent and his 35 year Dirigo went pretty fast.

Typical pre-race chaos.

As for me, my worst HOK ever, but after being sick for a month, I’ll take what I can get, and hope for a bit better next weekend.

The people make the race.

Starting with the man himself.

Jen probably knows more about HOK time standards than anyone but Kevin.

Brian keeping the time.

Because you know, running @whsp_medical is not enough, Kate decided to be in the charge of the food.

Great to see Sarah back racing, but she has volunteered regardless for years.

Niles, keeping the peace around the barge.

Dave’s story about the LM2x was so captivating, even the dog sat at attention.

Medal has been won. Funding still needed!

A few folks turned up.

Some had good races.

Some not so good.

Nice hat, @gabriel.pfister1

Helen came down from Maine to volunteer. And maybe watch Scott race.

Sixto and the boys raced and brought (delicious) shellfish. Cool to see one of the boys sharing the shucking responsibilities.

Boats?

Boats.

Boats!

So many boats.

And a few more, and the new CITGO sign going up.

And a few oars for fun.

Amazing experience racing at the world championships for Palestine 🇵🇸. It wasn’t the result we wanted but I’m glad to have made history as the first Palestinian team boat with @amelhopeyounis . Grateful for everyone who helped me reach this chapter. First and foremost, thank you to my family for always supporting me win/loss/draw, and for flying all the way to Amsterdam to watch me race. Having brothers like @samghala and @zack.ghalayini in my corner remind me to always keep pushing and never settle.

Thank you to @amelhopeyounis for taking time away from his family and showing me what it means to be a Palestinian rower. Never giving up no matter what and always fighting till the last stroke. The Palestinian way 🇵🇸

Thank you to @pbcsculling for your support and positivity. I can’t wait to come back to DC and join the PBC family again. Thank you to @rbchpg for creating some of the most memorable training sessions of my life. To the rowers on the Charles River, thank you for yelling “free Palestine” every single time Amel and I would row by (atleast -2 splits).

Having a legendary coach like @alan.sinclair8 in our corner was a game changer for @psrf_palestine and I can’t thank him enough for creating history with us and helping me become the best rower I can be.

Although I’m missing countless people. I never realized what it meant to the rowing world to have the 🇵🇸 flag at the world stage. Athletes from all over the world were amazed by just us being there (thank you to Melvin and Simon for now repping the PLE unis and congratulations on the win) It’s not a world championship if the world isn’t there. #freepalestine🇵🇸

My teammate @ryanghalayini and I competed at the one and only @cromwellcupregatta in Cambridge,Ma. We managed to get the W against our sneakily fast opponents @matslikesboats @ashtonite47 who it is always a please to train/compete against. Although this is a small win, it’s still a win, and im going to enjoy whatever wins come my way at this moment in time. Thank you to everyone that made it out and cheered us on.Next stop, Philly! @psrf_palestine @rbchpg

We are counting down the 25 Most Iconic Rowing Blade Designs. At number 23 we have Riverside who would unquestionably be higher if the matching leggings were included in this list.
