The Palestine Cinema Days Festival is an international film festival in Palestine. In 2023, the festival organizers decided to put the festival on hold because they did not feel able to hold it while the genocide in Gaza was taking place. Instead, they launched “Palestine Cinema Days around the world,” which showcases Palestinian cinema in hundreds of theaters across the globe.

In Berlin, we’re organizing an evening of film, music, and art. Celebrate Palestinian cinema with us! Find out where plants from Palestine are lovingly tended in Berlin! Visit our exhibition featuring the powerful works of British artist Peter Kennard!

The films are shown in their original language with English subtitles.

We want to take the time to highlight the three film screenings that will take place on the 16th of October for our Cause & Effect: Fundraiser for Regenbogfabrik at Crack Bellmer.

The three films we will be showing in order of screening:

1. „Über Heimkehr und Fremde“ by Laura Russ (2025)
This is a personal essay film in which the narrator reflects on the experience of travelling, in particular the importance of so-called ‚third spaces‘ in cities.

2. „Variations on How to Farm a City“ by Mónica Martins Nunes (2024)
An experimental documentary about people in Porto who grow their own food and hold on to a slower, rural way of living between concrete, gentrification and the speed of the city.

3. „Denkst du auch, was ich denk, Couseng“ by Lotta Becker (2025)
Four cousins from Berlin rap about being Roma, their families and what they want for the future.

We want to thank @achtungberlin @totale_filmmagazin for cooperating with us on this event 🪽❣️

Friday, 16 October

Crack Bellmer, Revaler Straße 99, 10245 Berlin (RAW-Gelände)
Film screenings & Bar from 19:00. Seele live from 21:30, DJs from 22:30 until 6am.

@causeandeffect.bln is a rotating fundraiser party collective from Berlin. We work with artists and creatives, and the proceeds of each night go to a cause we choose together. This time it’s the Regenbogenfabrik in Kreuzberg (@rbf_xberg)

For over 40 years the Regenbogenfabrik has been a children’s, culture and neighbourhood centre on Lausitzer Straße, with a café, a canteen, a bike workshop, a woodshop, a hostel and a daycare. Rising costs and cut funding have left it in serious financial trouble, and it needs support to get through the coming months.

It’s the kind of place this edition is about. We’re looking at third spaces, the places outside home and work where people find each other and make room for themselves, with a focus on migrant communities. Together with @totale_filmmagazin and @achtungberlin filmfestival, we open the night at 19:00 with three films:

Über Heimkehr und Fremde by Laura Russ
Variations on How to Farm a City by Mónica Martins Nunes
Denkst du auch, was ich denk, Couseng by Lotta Becker
All films are shown with English subtitles. After the screening there’s a panel discussion with the Regenbogenfabrik and the filmmakers.

@seele.seele.seele opens the dancefloor with live music at 21:30. After her, we asked our DJs to play music from their home countries. Expect Latin, house, disco and bounce until 6am.
