POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Like I said when I read the book...THAT ENDING?!? OMG.

Like the book, @ljclaren really decided to put us through ALL the emotions with the audiobook of The Incendiary.

The dual narrators were good, and you felt all the things you did when you read the book (if you haven't read the book, go read it!!)

Picking up right where The Silversmith left off, we continue Ary's journey as she discovers more about who she really is, what she's capable of, and the powers she possesses. And then come the secrets.

This will make you laugh, it will make you cry, and apparently it will make you stare at the last page wondering HOW you're supposed to patiently wait for the next one.

If you loved The Silversmith, you're going to love The Incendiary even more. And I've listened to the audio of both!!

Get ready because this audiobook is out on Tuesday!!

Many thanks to @rbaudiopro, @rbfictionaudio, @tantoraudio, @netgalley and @ljclaren for the ALC to listen to and review!

Monstera by Delilah S. Dawson 📖

A little spooky, a little queer, and a little creepy.

Our protagonist has finally attained her freedom and moved to a new town. But the more she settles into her new apartment, the more she feels like she's jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire. The landlord is creepy, the downstairs neighbour is ambiguously attractive, and her past trauma has left its scars behind.

Going into the audiobook, we experience the world through the eyes of a girl who hasn't been out in the real world for years, and the impact of that lingers. The brewing chemistry and the way Lucy and Saskia try, but inevitably fail, to maintain their distance work rather well, much like trying to stay away from a forbidden fruit.

The audio version captures all the emotional pangs of the characters, but I do wish the book had been a little scarier.

October books 93, 94, 95, and 96 of 2026
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
After the releasing of @rebeccayarros Threshing Day, my brain went into slump mode. All of my TBR just stared at me while I stared at my Empyrean shelf instead 👀 🫣
It definitely called for a reread {which included Threshing again as I got farther into the original three books - so many Easter eggs!}

Violet Sorrengail and Xaden Riorson will always be my favorite Romantasy couple and these four books remind me that my top tier is still in fact my top tier ✨️ Plus, I read with my eyeballs the first time around, so this reread called for Graphic Audio 🎧

🎹 LOVE FELT LIKE THIS-a sweet Slowburn romance between a grumpy single dad musician and a puppeteer on a children’s show. This was just so cozy and cute. The narration was excellent and I loved it. ⁣⁣⠀

📦 THE WORRY BOX-my favorite horror book so far this year! This was a seriously disturbing (pleaseee check those trigger warnings), but also somehow funny at times? It had lovable characters you stressed over, a unique storyline that stuck with you, and all the twists and scares. SO GOOD. Highly recommend to horror fans. ⁣⁣⠀

The 7 Habits of Financially Healthy Women by Crystal Paine
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Release date: October 27, 2026

Financial peace and stability might feel impossible in today’s economy, but your money values dictate more than your salary. Through seven basic habits, Money Saving Mom (aka Crystal Paine) outlines how every woman can reduce financial stress by starting where she is and taking small, manageable steps.

This book feels like a warm hug of encouragement and care. Crystal is a self-proclaimed math hater, so her advice has little to do with mathematically building wealth and much more to do with consistently building stability. Through practical (and sometimes a bit outdated) examples, she enthusiastically shows how almost anyone can make small adjustments to become more financially conscious.

You’re not going to find seven steps to becoming a millionaire here, but rather seven value systems that form a foundation for financial stewardship.

As Crystal points out, the basics of working out are simple, but consistency is transformative. She essentially takes that same philosophy and applies it to financial planning. I do think some of her suggestions feel overly optimistic because the specifics come from experiences that happened a couple of decades ago, but the encouragement—and the principles behind them—still stand. She’s clearly gifted at making money tasks feel manageable.

My biggest frustration, though, was that there was almost no cost assigned to time. Many of her suggestions are incredibly taxing on the clock. And while her solution may technically save the most money, weighing those savings against the cost of your energy, mental load, and time can make them far less accessible than they initially appear.

This is a great book for anyone who needs financial basics but feels intimidated by them. Crystal will have you planning with more grace, intentionality, and simplicity in no time.

Thank you @bethany_house_nonfiction and @rbmediaaudio for the eARC and ALC!

Perfect for you if you like:
• Principle-based financial advice
• Planning + schedules
• Values-based finances
