The way LeBron was moving on some of these dunks during the 2009-10 season was unreal. The power, the explosiveness, the way he’d leap and soar through traffic like defenders weren’t even there—it was honestly terrifying. If you were standing in the paint, your best option was to just get out of the way.

This was one of my favourite versions of LeBron. An athletic force who attacked the rim with no fear and made every dunk feel like it could end up on a poster. It’s also a testament to his greatness that he’s had multiple different primes throughout his career, evolving his game while still dominating for over two decades.

The Boston Celtics reportedly being interested in Kyrie Irving would be one of the wildest reunions the NBA could possibly give us 😭🍿 Kyrie’s first run in Boston ended with injuries, frustration, playoff disappointment and one of the messiest fan relationships in recent memory, so the idea of him coming back years later would instantly break the internet. Celtics fans still remember the promise to re-sign, the way everything fell apart and all the drama that followed, but nobody can deny the talent. When Kyrie is healthy, he is still one of the most skilled guards basketball has ever seen.

The basketball fit would be fascinating, but the emotions would be even crazier. Boston already has championship expectations, and adding Kyrie would bring elite shot creation, playoff experience and a whole lot of history back into the building. Some fans would hate it, some would talk themselves into it immediately, and the rest of the league would be watching every single game just for the chaos. Kyrie returning to Boston would not just be a move. It would be pure NBA cinema 😭☘️🔥

The NBA offseason is officially about to explode, because the Boston Celtics have emerged as a serious threat to land Giannis Antetokounmpo, and they are reportedly willing to trade Jaylen Brown plus a haul of draft picks to make it happen 👀 According to Yahoo Sports insider Kevin O’Connor, Boston is “making lots of calls and shopping all players except for Jayson Tatum,” and would “without a doubt” move Brown if it brought the two time MVP to Beantown. Celtics reporter Brian Robb projected that any real deal would be centered around Brown as the centerpiece along with up to four future first round picks, and Bill Simmons reported Boston already “made an offer” to Milwaukee within the past week. With the NBA Draft set for June 23 and the Bucks expected to move Giannis before then, this thing could come together fast. Imagine a frontcourt of Giannis next to Jayson Tatum, that is a genuinely terrifying championship level pairing that would instantly reshape the entire Eastern Conference.

The catch is that the Bucks reportedly have minimal interest in taking back Brown as their building block for a reset, which is why this almost certainly becomes a multi team blockbuster. Frameworks are already flying around, with teams like the Trail Blazers, Hawks and Pelicans floated as third teams that could absorb Brown while sending Milwaukee the younger players and draft capital they actually want. Brown is no throw in either, because the former Finals MVP just averaged 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists this past season, so whoever lands him is getting a bona fide star. The other wrinkle is the Miami Heat, who have their own strong package on the table and remain Boston’s main competition in what insiders are now calling a two team race. So the dominoes are lined up, the offers are in, and one of the biggest superstar trades in years could drop any day now. Buckle up, because the NBA offseason is about to get absolutely wild 👀

LeBron’s 2017 Finals run was honestly one of the most absurd individual performances in NBA history, putting up a triple-double average on 56% shooting against arguably the greatest team ever assembled, a Warriors squad that had just added Kevin Durant to a 73-win core. The fact that he still lost the series says everything about how stacked Golden State was rather than anything about LeBron, because no human being can realistically be expected to outduel four All-Stars by himself when his second-best teammate was a declining Kyrie Irving and the rest of that Cavs roster simply couldn’t match up on either end of the floor.

LeBron’s 2017 Finals performance might be the most overlooked masterpiece in NBA history. Averaging 34 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists on 56% shooting made him the first player ever to average a triple-double in the Finals, and he led both teams in points, rebounds, assists, and steals. The problem was he was running into a buzzsaw, because Golden State had just added Kevin Durant to a core of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green, giving them four All-Stars in their primes. Meanwhile, Kyrie had his moments but couldn’t consistently match that firepower, Kevin Love was playing through injury, and the rest of the rotation was wildly inconsistent. LeBron was dragging a roster that had no business being on the same court as those Warriors, and the fact that he still stole a game while putting up numbers no one had ever seen in a Finals says everything about where he was as a player.
