We take biochar seriously. Pumpkins? Also seriously. Especially this time of year 🍁🎃

Biochar can support healthier, more productive plants.
In a field study, pumpkins grown with biochar produced more than twice the yield of the comparison treatment. Good thing those weren’t on our head…

But these benefits extend well beyond pumpkins! A global meta-analysis found that combining biochar with fertilizer increased crop yields by an additional 15% compared with fertilizer alone. Longer-term studies have found even greater impacts over time.

But, for today, we’ll let pumpkins get the spotlight. 👻

I’m not going to lie. I created @re.wilding.co to break down barriers so we can build a better future.

That means courageously admitting what’s not working, boldly embracing new ways of getting things done, and building a new foundation for connection.

We’re doing it all.

The United Nations recently delivered a staggering warning: the world has surpassed the 1.5°C threshold.

It comes at a time when many of us are already feeling the weight of environmental, social, and economic challenges in our communities.

We’re allowed to feel everything that comes with that. The frustration. The grief. The anger. The uncertainty.

But the future is not something that simply happens to us.

We shape it through what we build, what we protect, what we invest in, and what we choose to change.

Progress has never required us to be fearless. It requires us to keep moving forward, especially when the challenges feel bigger than any one of us.

You’re stronger than you know.

And together, we are more powerful than we realize.

Keep going.

(Re)wilding is my life’s work. My answer to creating a better world. One in which we stop treating the crises facing us as independent issues to be solved and start seeing the multiple opportunities we have in front of us to build a brighter future. It’s time to start getting honest about what’s working, what’s not, and realize tackling these challenges requires a fundamentally different approach.

A thriving ecosystem is built from the ground up.
Healthy soils support healthy plants. Healthy plants sustain pollinators. Pollinators strengthen the natural systems that support life.
Biochar is one way we can help restore that foundation—improving soil function while building more resilient landscapes for the future.
Because resilience isn’t built one species at a time.
It’s built by strengthening the connections between them.

Time to gather for regenerative agriculture!

We're excited to join conservation community luminaries at the 81st Soil and Water Conservation Society International Annual Conference in St. Louis, MO, July 26th–29th. Come visit us at booth 15 and during our presentation!

It's time to widen our reach, deepen our connections, and strengthen our collective impact for the future of conservation. See you there!

Most people don’t know what’s happening beneath their feet. 🐛

The soil crisis is real — and it’s costing us more than we think. Degraded land. Lost habitat. Food insecurity. Pollution.

Biochar changes the equation.
→ Fertilizer dependency down 20%+
→ Improved soil functions and fertility
→ Benefits that last a decade from a single application

Healthier soil. Cleaner water. Stronger ecosystem services. That’s not a patch. That’s a paradigm shift.

Lets talk Rewilding your gardens.
Keep it wild. Add water. Feed the pollinators. Keep it natural. Embrace it.
Five small principles, and together they turn any patch of ground into habitat — no acreage required.
We think about restoration the same way. Native plantings and reduced chemical inputs do their part above the soil line. What we focus on is what's happening below it — the structure that lets water, roots, and microbial life actually take hold.
A garden left a little wild is doing real work. So is a field with healthier soil underneath it. When we give nature the right conditions, it rebuilds itself.

Nature doesn’t waste a carbon atom. Fallen leaves, undisturbed roots, decaying matter — all of it feeds a cycle: organic material breaks down, microbes convert it, and carbon moves back into the soil instead of the atmosphere. That’s the mechanism regenerative agriculture works to restore. Undisturbed ground isn’t idle — it’s carbon actively finding its way back into the earth. Small, uninterrupted cycles, left alone, add up to resilient land.

Buckminster Fuller had it right: you don’t out-argue a broken system. You build something better when the old one stops making sense.

That’s the quiet logic behind advancing regenerative practices like biochar. We’re not just demonstrating what soil can do when it’s alive again, we’re championing a new paradigm that helps it thrive on its own.

The new model is already here. We’re building it and putting it to work.

Follow us and “Make The Change” for more thriving ecosystems. ✨

We had a great time at #SWCS2026! From hosting our first booth to connecting with many new faces leading conservation innovation, we’re going home with new insights, partnerships, and a renewed sense of urgency for this work.

Looking forward to the next one!

Soil work is slow work. And that’s the point.

Restore the ground long enough, and something else starts to happen — people stop just managing land and start belonging to it again.

Seasons become something you track, not just endure. A place stops being a backdrop and becomes something you know.

That’s the layer regeneration is really building toward. Not just healthier soil, but a deeper relationship with the land itself.

Join us on our mission to restore that deeper connection.
