Book - The New Friend
Author - Rona Halsall
Pages - 322
Genre - Psychological Thriller
Rating - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

✒️Blurb-

When Meg meets Tina, it’s like the most perfect meeting of minds. Their friendship feels naturally joyful – like they’ve had a space waiting in their lives for each other. And, with both being survivors of the same illness, there is an instant bond.

But Tina’s not all she seems to be. She has another name. And secrets that are destined to find their way to the surface, creating a danger that Meg could never have predicted.

In Meg’s world, Tina isn’t the only person who is lying. And someone is about to become an unwitting pawn in a complicated – and deadly – game.

💭My Thoughts-

I was hooked on this one right from the start!

Fast-paced and packed with short, punchy chapters, The New Friend was such a quick and addictive read.

I loved that Meg wasn’t your typical protagonist. She was suspicious of everyone, which had me questioning everyone too! I didn’t trust a single character — it felt like they all had something to hide. There were definitely moments when I found myself shouting at Meg, particularly when she met Liam in real life for the first time. That was a major red flag for me! 🚩

Overall, this was a brilliant read, with plenty of twists I didn’t see coming and a plot that kept me turning the pages. A thoroughly entertaining psychological thriller that kept me guessing right until the end!

Thank you to @nothing.beats.a.good.book @ace.book.tours and @ronahalsall for having me on the tour 💕
