Tonight, Monday August 14, we’re back at Sly Fox in Phoenixville for the latest Books, Beers, and Bites! Stop by between 5 and 8 for great food, beer, and — (of course) — books with a great crowd of fellow book lovers. We’ll have some of our favorite reads on hand for you to help you wrap up your summer reading, along with info about Bookstore Romance Day this Saturday!

Have you found Waldo in Phoenixville yet this summer? He's hiding in 24 local businesses all July, so you still have plenty of time! Stop by Reads & Company to grab a passport and pick up your first two stamps (one for finding Waldo and one for spotting his glasses) then continue the search through town! There are even prizes and a big part on July 31 to wrap up the search!

We spotted him strolling the 200 block this afternoon!

Venue change! We’re moving the author event with Mattie Lubchansky this Sunday June 11 at 4 pm that we are cohosting with our friends from the LGBT Equality Alliance of Chester County next door to Rec Room’s second floor event space! Rec Room is right next door to Reads & Company, so this should be an easy move.

We can’t wait for Mattie (also the associate editor at The Nib) to tell us all about BOYS WEEKEND, their just released graphic novel that is getting so much love. Mattie is one of cartooning’s best satirists, and this is going to be a great time!

Arrive a bit early to grab a drink or some food, then head upstairs for the fun!

Here we have Sir Chester Barkley, fourteen years old and a certified book lover - he even has his own library card! So what a great treat on a cold day for his human to bring home a fresh bag of books from Reads & Company! Look, tuna is great, but at the end of the day we’re with Chester and prefer about 300 pages of perfectly prepared words pressed between a fresh dust jacket design with perfectly placed blurbs!

A huge thanks to @laurielmorrison for visiting the @phoenixvillefarmersmarket last Saturday to tell us all about Coming Up Short, her latest novel for young readers! We loved hearing about how authors have the magical power of controlling time and how she uses that to make her books the best they can be! Laurie was delightful and kind enough to sign additional copies of her books for us to have at @readsandcompabny in case you weren't able to make it to the Market. Next up: Jonathan Stutzman and Heather Fox (aka @thedustdancestoo and @adoodlefox) join us to celebrate everyone's favorite Llama as it ROCKS THE CRADLE OF CHAOS on Saturday, August 6th!!!

Absolutely honored to once again be a winner of Main Line Today’s “Best of the Main Line and Western Suburbs!” This year, we’re the Critics’ Choice as Best Place to Meet Authors in Person!

“Owners Robb Cadigan and Jason Hafer have renewed their commitment to live readings and author appearances, making their shop the go-to spot for getting up close and personal with your favorite scribe.” All we can say is THANK YOU — and in the immortal words of William Shakespeare: “You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.”

Some people said we were crazy to open a bookstore 3 years ago. But YOU didn’t. Thank you Readers for being the most important part of our success story. Your ongoing support means everything. Keep shopping with local bookshops run by real people, not soulless data-mining algorithm-driven tax-dodging behemoths … oops, sorry was that out loud? (And thanks to @nytimes for this excellent piece yesterday about indie bookstores fighting the good fight in these tumultuous times) #phoenixville #phoenixvillepa #bookstore #bookshop #indiebookstore #communitybookshop #independentbookstore #supportindie #shopsmall #shopindie #supportlocal #welovereaders #weloveauthors #welovebooks #hometownbookshop

This Saturday at the @phoenixvillefarmersmarket! We're so happy to be launching a new author series at the Phoenixville Farmers' Market this Saturday with @kathy_hunt, one of our favorite Philly area food writers! Kathy will be doing recipe demonstrations on the Market stage at 10:00 am and 11:00 am, and will be available to sign copies of her cookbooks at 10:30 am and 11:30 am (@readsandcompany will have them available for sale). Kathy selected a great recipe from her most recent cookbook, Luscious, Tender, Juicy that is perfect for your Fourth of July picnic AND features ingredients from some of the wonderful Market vendors! We're so excited for this series, which will feature a wide range of books and authors for all ages and hope to see you there!

Happy publication day to our friend @emmastraub -- we hope she's having a great time celebrating the release of This Time Tomorrow! Emma is one of our favorite book people, both as an author and a fellow bookseller at @booksaremagicbk. And we feel like we say this every time she releases a new novel, but this one may be our favorite one yet! We're happy to offer signed copies (link in bio) and can't wait for you to get this one in your hands. @emilyhenrywrites says it is, "the kind of book that will make you laugh, make you cry, and make you call the people you love." For sure Emily, and congrats Emma!

This is Scout. Altho his family co-owns Reads & Company, Scout has never actually visited the store. That changed today. Happy Weekend from Scout Cadigan and all of us at your friendly neighborhood indie bookshop! And yes indeed, the small but mighty Scout got his name from a certain beloved novel by Harper Lee. Of course. #phoenixville #phoenixvillepa #bookstore #bookshop #indiebookstore #communitybookshop #independentbookstore #supportindie #shopsmall #shopindie #supportlocal #welovereaders #weloveauthors #welovebooks #hometownbookshop
