with the ‘ber months in full swing, i thought i’d share some books that i cant wait to get to this autumn season!! i have purposely been saving these books for autumn! 🥰

cosy season is upon us and i couldn’t be more happier! with the insane summer we had this year, i am SO ready for the colder months. give me a hot chocolate, a good book & a fluffy blanket!!

this coffee tasted absolutely devine! as a self proclaimed iced coffee queen, i can confidently say this coffee was a 10/10! the coffee flavour was rich & so tasty. the golden midnight syrup was sweet but not sickly, it was the perfect addition to the coffee and the vanilla fusion blended everything together beautifully! ✨

✨ Sunday Series ✨

Last week I decided it was finally time to embark on my TOG journey for the first time! And you’ll (hopefully) be pleased to hear I am having a great time.

I’ve just started Heir of Fire, I took those pictures last week but I think you’ve all guessed by now that my silence on here is on and off because life has really done me.

I was scared going into this series and I think that’s why I put it off for so long, there are so many recommendations and theories about the best way to read the series and also, which book you should read first and it put me right off 😂🙈. However, I really enjoyed the first two. I’ve kept The Assassin’s Blade to read after Heir of Fire.

Please don’t leave any spoilers for me but I’d love to hear your thoughts of things that I won’t understand until I’ve finished the series!! But I beg please no spoilers 🙈😭.

this was my first ever @carissabroadbentbooks book and it did not disappoint! i actually didn’t realise that this was the fifth book in the series but the way it was written, everything was explained perfectly! the world building was incredible.

we follow our divine warrior, kyrene and our vampire prince, septimus. kyrene is probably one of my favourite female characters i’ve read about. she’s fierce, full of rage & unapologetically herself! septimus, septimus, septimus!! the vampire of all vampires. i am OBSESSED with him. he was snarky, a survivalist & sooo cunning!

a very special mention to zefiah, the sword that kyrene wields throughout this book! her sarcastic nature was one of my favourite parts of this book. zefiah was entertaining, had a slightly motherly touch whilst also being powerful!

i need the next book like immediately because the last 10% was PAIN. also, im definitely going to read the first four books very soon!! i would most definitely recommend going in blind because it enhances the reading experience!

✨ Review ✨

I enjoyed the start of this grumpy x sunshine duo and absolutely adored the small town and the farm. You get a real sense of how important the farm is to everyone in the town and not just the Darling family.

Jesse tries to keep his distance from Tally as he sees her as the youngest Darling daughter who is in for a fly by visit before jetting back off to do something else. He doesn’t want to invest his time in pleasantries and getting to know her when he has bigger priorities. Tally finds Jesse and his forever grumpy mood infuriating and doesn’t understand why he is the one overseeing everything on the farm. She also finds his solo mindset difficult to grasp, he doesn’t interact with people and wants to do everything alone. Tally tries to help and intervenes which causes chaos 😂.

The longer they spend together, the more obvious their connection is and that they both want what’s best for the farm. The lines between enemies to more starts to get blurry and the shift in their dynamic was really cute.

The only thing for me that I didn’t vibe with was that once they crossed that line it seemed to steer away from the story, it became then a story about them being intimate all the time, which was fine to start with but after a while got a tad same samey 🙈.

✨ Washed Up - Review ✨

Firstly, I want to thank the amazing @lovebookstours for selecting me to be part of the is tour. It’s been one of my favourites so far.

The perfect summer romance you didn’t know you needed!

Oh gosh I adored this from start to finish and wish I could read it all over again for the first time! This was like a hug on a rainy day and is perfect for either beach read this summer or a cosy night in. Herm is like a cute, peaceful home from home and it was clear why everyone loved it so much.

Dylan and Frankie don’t get off to the best start when she discovers him asleep in her cottage, after a heavy night. Dylan soon learns he is stranded on the tiny Island of Herm. With only one way on and one way off the Island, except in the event of a storm 🙊.

I laughed so much at how stubborn Frankie was, she was a little out of touch and old school in her ways and the way she has lived life on herm. She didn’t believe a word that Dylan said to her, about him, despite the reception he got from others on the island. This made their interactions even more amusing and piqued Frankie’s curiosity, and we all know how it feels to send a message and be sat waiting for a reply.

The chemistry that developed between Frankie and Dylan was ridiculously cute, he showed up for her so many times, even when she wasn’t expecting it or realise that was what he was doing. When Dylan leaves the island, he seems to take a part of Frankie’s heart with her and leaves her questioning her once very secure life in Herm.

When Frankie and Jake started to spend some time together I shouted at my kindle 😂 honestly, not on my watch guys!

I thoroughly enjoyed how both characters grew throughout the book and really loved the ending. There are some heartfelt turn of events throughout the book and they were given the time and care that they deserved.

i have spent the past week getting lost in the world of alex & ophelia and in sorrowsong’s dark, gloomy & mysterious setting. daybreak was the perfect conclusion to this duology and i’m so sad that it’s over, i miss them (alex) already😫

daybreak follows from the insane cliffhanger we were left with in nightshade & wow! i was on the edge of my seat for part of it whilst simultaneously fangirling over mr alex yearner corbeu green and his obsession with ophelia! 🤭

i absolutely loved and admire the way @autumnwoods.author handled alex’s depression. she handled it with so much care, passion & love. alex was literally going through hell but the way he shows up for the women in his life? i am so obsessed🥺

ophelia, my sweet girl! she was so precious and i felt so, so proud watching her find her forever and her place in alex’s world. she really grew into herself in this book and i loved it. her & alex were absolutely perfect for each other🫶🏽

the found family in this book was arguably one of the best things about it. my favourite side character was most definitely vincenzo but they were all incredible in their own ways🥹

✨ Saturday Set Up ✨

Good morning bookworms 👋

It’s been a while apart from a few reviews here and there but life has well, broken so it’s been difficult getting my mind focused on here.

I’m going to try and get my brain focused on some booksta content again to keep my mind occupied. I also have a heap of reviews to share with you 😂🙈 even if the algorithm gods absolutely hate them.

Recently I’ve read Quicksilver and I finished Brimstone last night and I cannot believe they have been sat on my shelf for the length of time they have! I already need book 3 😍 thoroughly enjoyed this series so far.

Next up, I hate going to bed without having chosen a book to read because for some reason it always takes me longer to decide in the morning. I haven’t read a kindle book in a while but the shelves are glaring at me 😂.

✨ The Ballad of Ronan McCoy - Review ✨

This was a beautifully tender, optimistic yet heartbreaking book about friendship, love and grief. The story was written with so much love, hope and hurt I felt every emotion as I read Ronan and Brendan’s story.

I devoured this in two sittings and honestly emotion poured out of me, I cried a lot. I don’t think I can review this in a way that gives the book the justice it deserves.

The writing and structure of the book was everything, the pace of the story instantly pulled me in and made me feel like I was there with the characters going through this story in their footsteps.

Everything was written was such care. Ronan and Brendan’s friendship was truly beautiful and made me laugh and smile fondly. Brendan was such a great friend to Ronan throughout the story. I loved the way Ronan’s parents welcomed Brendan into their family to be there for Ronan, despite them being on such a difficult journey, they showed up for Brendan and showered him with love, encouragement and respect.

Consequently, the impact this story had on Brendan’s relationship with his own family was truly emotional. It really portrayed the power of friendship, love and grief and how those themes help both families connect in a really special way that had such a lasting impact.

There was so much character depth within the story, although some featured more than others it felt like each character was shared in a way that made them such an important part of the book. I adored the relationship that Brendan had with Mr Feeney, an additional father figure but in a different way.
