POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

@rinnysreadings began this trend so I’m following along!! These folks are inspiring, passionate, and always 10/10 with their reading recs. A bonus is that some of them write too. 👀 Obsessed is an understatement!! 🤎

I could make a dozen parts of this series (and maybe I will, don’t threaten me with a good time!) but as someone who tries to use social media in an additive way rather than as a purely escapist or distracting hole to fall into, there are people in the book space doing amazing things and I want to highlight them!

Creating book content is a lot of labor, and compared to other kinds of content creation it’s also often underpaid, if creators get paid at all beyond the PR gifts that are free books. So I’m extra grateful for creators that dedicate themselves to enlivening the world of litfic, classics, and just generally deep dives into what literature is capable of. 💓💓

5 BOOKS I…

Wish I could read again vs. 5 I should have DNF’d.

This is inspired by @barbbookedup who tagged me in this one.

The first five are of course ones I loved and would enjoy reading for the first time again whereas the second slide are basically books from my declutter pile.

I’ll keep Gifted & Talented because I want to give it another shot. Sisters Brothers is one I didn’t enjoy nearly twenty years ago, but will keep it because I think my mind can be changed.

What do you do with books you want to get rid of?

3 authors you’ve on read once but want to read more:

THRILLER THURSDAY (ON A MONDAY?)

It’s a long weekend here in Canada and I thought I’d use the time to catch up on at least one tag. The only problem is that it’s decidedly Thursday-related. So, hopefully @sippinpages , you’re ok with the fact that I didn’t entirely follow the brief. Thanks for the tag!

If you follow the GoodReads Choice Awards at the end of each year, you’ve surely noticed that certain categories like Romance and Mystery/Thriller don’t always feature the most diverse voices. So, I figured I’d use this opportunity to show off some thrillers from my TBR that are written by BIPOC authors.

I plan on getting to quite a few of these over the summer. I’ve also tagged a few people who might like to join in, but of course I’d love to encourage anyone to participate!

What common tropes can make or break a thriller for you?
