POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Traditional instruments is an important part of our cultural expression and they carry sounds that have accompanied performances, celebrations, and stories across generations. Keeping them in good condition means we can continue to enjoy the sounds and experiences they bring.

This bongo drum came in for repairs after its skin was damaged. What followed was a careful process of dismantling, examining, repairing, and putting the drum back together, one step at a time.

From preparing the tools to loosening each screw and working on the drum itself, every stage required patience, attention to detail, and an understanding of the instrument.

The process may look simple to someone watching from the outside, but behind every movement is experience, and behind every finished piece is time spent learning and perfecting a craft.

The Female Lagbaja 👸⭐️

Lagbaja represents the face of the faceless. I represent the face of women who refuse to remain voiceless. 👑

Through this performance, I celebrate the courage of women who dare to speak, stand up for themselves, and make their voices heard.

Because every woman deserves to be seen, heard, and represented.

_”Power, in those days, was like riding on a tiger’s back... You must keep riding or be torn to pieces if you fall.”_

In Oyo’s empire, power was law,
And war was proof.
A kingdom built on conquest,
A law that feared no man,
Until a man dared to test it.
They said; _”Win or never return.”_
But what happens when power begins to question itself?

Something huge is coming to the stage
Stretching far back to the time of our ancestors,
History remembers but with FTT... It speaks

_The Trials of Àfọ̀njá_ will be *LIVE, 1:00PM* on the _6th of May, 2026_ at *Prof. Mahmood Yakubu Lecture Theatre*

Proof of the passion for the art even though we’re not theatre students, we’d still make it work regardless 🤭

THE REGENT

Precision. Intention. Protection.
She ensures stability and tradition.
Having no time to grieve, she assumes her position with uncertainty.
Fire in her bones; pressure within her soul.
She, however, holds her forte,
To secure her people’s future.

She might be a temporary replacement,
But her identity as royalty stands true.
She exudes elegance and timeless grace;
Her bravery sticks like second skin.

She weaves through safeguarding the throne’s integrity,
Yet she leads a life of loneliness.
No room for love. No space for self-indulgence.
Heavy is the head that wears the crown.
And she, carries it in silence.
She is Her Royal Majesty.
She is... Adélé Oba.
The King’s Regent.
