POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I’ve been going through a lot of personal things over the last couple months and June was especially chaotic and overwhelming so my reading was WAY down from where it normally is. But you know what? THAT IS OKAY! Being a reader doesn’t mean having to read a set number or books or pages or anything. If you read at all and you call yourself a reader that is all that matters. So don’t worry if you hit a slump. Or if you get behind on your goals. Or if your Netgalley ratio is in serious need of improvement like mine is at the moment. Just read and do it because you want to and you enjoy it. Life happens. And we all go through times where we just can’t do as much, even if we want to.

Authors who have sent me ARCs over the past month or so - you are on my list! And I’m starting to work on those ARCs now. I’m a bit behind. But I have not forgotten you and I can’t wait to read your books very soon! I’m also working on getting back on track of my reviewing, but trying to be gracious with myself too. I’m way behind on things, but I’ll get back there. I know I will!

Here's my entry for my best #SapphicReads this year so far! If you're looking for stories that will stay with you for a long time, these definitely are the books for you! #HappyPride 🏳️‍🌈

* Not for a Moment by #CheyenneBlue and A Curious Visit by #JessLea are books that got me all worked up!

* Chaos Agent by #LeeWinter and Observations on the Danger of Female Curiosity by #SuzanneMoss both gave me probably the best book hangover this year!

* Meeting Millie by #ClareAshton and These Thin Lines by #MilenaMcKay are both romantic tales that blew my mind!

* Consecrated Ground by #VirginiaBlack and A Long Time Dead by #SamaraBreger whisked me away in brilliantly crafted worlds of fantasy and paranormal.

I was still in a bit of a reading slump in May and didn’t read nearly as many books as I had hoped to. I’ve been dealing with a lot of things personally, and it just didn’t happen for me this month. I was feeling guilty about it at first, but then reminded myself that reading and this account are supposed to be things that bring me joy, not that feel like a chore or anything like that. So, friends - in case you are like me, this is your reminder that it doesn’t matter how many books you read, or how fast you read, or how quickly you get reviews written and posted, or how often you post, or anything. If you want to be part of the bookstagram community, that’s all that matters. You belong here! Have fun! Connect with people. Grow your TBR to the point you will never read them all. Share books you love when you have the time and energy to do it. Post stacks or basic graphics or complex graphics. Share books with just star ratings or write heartfelt reviews. Basically - you do you and know that whatever that looks like - IT IS ENOUGH! And you belong here.
