What it Means to Live Today.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

THU OCT 29 - (UN)PREPARED - PARIS 🚧 Location and guests are unprepared and to be announced. Free and open to all.

In anticipation of Real Review's 10 yr anniversary, @realrvw and @gr10k will launch the "GO BAG", a play on GR10K's Soil Sack Bag that comes with fire-retardant laptop sleeve.

On sale October 29, member pre-orders start today.

🏗️

ABOUT THE GO BAG

In the last ten years, "prepping" [stockpiling supplies for crises, disruption or collapse] has gone from a niche obsession to a wholly normalised mindset.

It is true: The world is both more uncertain, and we are more conscious of it.

We all want to feel secure.

Our renewed interest in prepping mirrors our rising awareness of the novel risks and threats we now face in everyday life.

We are particularly sensitive to the city's fragility: from urban unrest to brittle supply chains.

This GO bag physically protects what is important to you. but its true value is psychological: by preparing this GO bag, you will [partly] fulfil your need to feel ready, no matter what comes next.

Some books sit on the shelves for a long time before finding their reader. Others are picked up almost as soon as they arrive. And on some days, it’s just quiet, with nothing much happening.

Thank you to everyone who takes a book home.

Many thanks for the shout out to our evaporative cooling experiments in Athens to @jamesbridle and @j_self in the new issue of @realrvw .. many other moments I also enjoyed and empathise with in their short dialogue piece on ‘left-wing prepping’. Basically for me, how to still think and act when what Gregory Bateson described as the wider eco-mental systems of our world are driven ever more insane…
