https://www.rmcjapandenim.com/product-page/heritage-wave?currency=JPY Continued: Clothing Does Not Speak Words, Yet It Expresses Constantly Denim is a very unique genre of clothing. Some appreciate its selvedge edge, some favor heavy oz fabrics, while others are willing to spend years waiting for a pair of raw denim jeans to slowly form fades unique to their body. The exact same pair of jeans, worn by different individuals, will ultimately present entirely different expressions. Every crease and every spot of wear records the wearer's daily habits and life. Yet in my view, the story of the garment begins much earlier than that. Long before it is worn, the pattern has already defined the silhouette, the construction has established the structural foundation, and the choice of materials has presaged its future performance and aging. In other words, the narrative of a pair of jeans does not start with the wearer; it is drafted from the initial moments of design and crafting. The marks left by the wearer later on simply add new chapters to an already ongoing story. Still Learning After Nearly Thirty Years For me, engaging with denim for nearly thirty years does not mean I have all the answers. On the contrary, the more I touch, craft, and research, the more I realize how much lies waiting to be explored beneath the surface. What I hope to share is not merely technical knowledge on how denim clothing is made, but rather a way of seeing and appreciating garments. When picking up a pair of jeans, beyond checking the brand, price tag, or exterior appearance, one can try taking a step further to ask: Why is this silhouette shaped this way? Why was this specific construction method chosen for the seams? How do the natural characteristics of the fabric influence the final piece? When you begin asking these questions, the garment ceases to be just another commodity. It begins to reveal the intricate bond between design, technique, material, and time. This is precisely what I hope to convey through my work and experience. to be continued⋯⋯
