Out October 16 on @alldayidream ☁️

Near the end of 2024, during one of the harder periods of my life, @massdig — a Serbian artist whose records I’d been playing for years — reached out and invited me to write vocals on a few of his tracks.

The timing was strangely perfect. The first two came from a heavier place, but when @rebelskisounds’ “Cascading Waves” came around, I wanted the lyric to be about something different: transmuting pain into beauty, and the strength we can find on the other side of difficult things.

“We will see the stars tonight through the darkest clouds…”

I didn’t hear much about the record for a long time and assumed it had simply passed by. Turns out, these things sometimes just take time.

Very grateful to see Rebelski — Cascading Waves (Mass Digital & Justin Waves Vocal Rework) land on @alldayidream’s Summers’ End Sampler.

Our San Francisco show at @thewarfield was another really special night with @peterhook_thelight - it was great to have Keanu Reeves & @robmailhouse from @dogstarband in the house, and thank you Keanu for introducing us on stage! We all absolutely loved it. 😃

First time in a long time that I’ve been able to play an SF date with my dad & I really enjoyed it, top crowd. 👌

It was great to be back in Denver with @peterhook_thelight at the @ogdentheatre last week - really fun show! Trying my best to keep up with posting some photos from every show that we’ve been doing…

Tonight here in Saratoga at the @mountainwinery is the last stop on the tour for me personally as I’m heading off to start with @smashingpumpkins again soon - our friend @duffy_the_bass_slayer will be taking over with my dad & the gang for these last 3 shows this weekend. Thanks to everyone who’s come out to see us on this tour it’s been brilliant. 🫶

Sometimes life offers moments that are meaningful completions of a moment in our youth that bridge a journey that ends with being able to share something magical with the ones you love. What I didn’t expect was the experience we had to be more than just a concert. When I started learning drums, I spent thousands of hours with Keanu jamming to Joy Division riffs. That’s how it all started. We both had this love for this band from Manchester; they just made us move a different way, think a different way about how music can be done without thinking too much but rather feeling. “Just play” is what the late Ian Curtis would tell the boys. Just do it. Every Joy Division song came out of a jam or them all just being in a room together without a master plan. That’s the magic of pure creation, less thinking and let the music take you. Peter Hook and The Light are on tour showing the world how that is done on the highest level. Thank you, Peter Hook and his brilliant son, Jack Bates, for being so incredibly kind to us and for all the laughs and conversation with the band, David, Paul, Martin, and Jonezy, for treating us to your talent and kindness. The passion of Joy Division and New Order came through like I’ve never seen before. The Warfield in San Francisco was levitating. Best of all, meeting new friends, musicians that felt like we have known each other for decades. It all just fit, and our circle became one. Walking back on the empty, misty streets in San Francisco, we just walked in silence for a bit, then looked at each other and realized how lucky we are and grateful for a night we will never forget.
