Dear non-Caribbean friends, PLEASE stop inviting us to your paint-and-sip parties. WE NOT COMING! 😭💀😂

This is how we like to paint and sip! 🎨🔥 We throw paint and powder at everybody, get soaked from head to toe, dance like we have no responsibilities, and chase down the drink truck when it’s time to sip! 🍹🏃🏾‍♂️💨😭

We don’t sit around a table painting on little canvases. WE ARE THE CANVAS! 😭😂 And as for the sipping? Just follow the drink truck! 🍹💀

Welcome to J’OUVERT! 🇹🇹🇯🇲🇭🇹🇬🇩🔥

With tobago ,Miami carnival coming up thought i would share some inspiration
✨💗 GOLDEN ROYALTY 💛💜💙
A bold carnival glam inspired by golden pink, sunshine yellow, hints of blue & soft lavender—brought together to create a look that is vibrant, feminine, and full of carnival energy. ✨
The eyes are the main attraction with bold, dramatic eyeshadow, intense lashes, and a detailed rhinestone design sweeping around the eyes. A few delicate gems placed at the inner corners add that perfect touch of sparkle without taking away from the eye look. 💎✨
Every detail was designed to shine, celebrate, and command attention on the road. 👑🎭

If you think you can just show up and participate - think again!

Most people treat Carnival like a party.
That’s the mistake.
Carnival is endurance.
It is strategy.
It is preparation long before the road.

You do not just need a look.
You need stamina.
You need discipline.
You need your mind right.
You need your people right too.
That is why we are already working.

Already training.
Already building capacity now.
The red backpack.
The water bottle.
The stop at Evolve Fitness Studio.
That is the message.

Preparation is part of the experience.
Fitness is part of the experience.
Readiness is part of the experience.
Because when the time comes, you should not be trying to catch up.
You should already be ready.

Thank you @redantscarnival for the great backpack. Utilizing it now to go to the gym. From Trinidad to Mexico.

Things We Learned from J’ouvert 🇹🇹
1. When you play with a band in Trinidad… food, drinks, and vibes are INCLUDED. No half stepping.

2. Not all bands are the same.
Playing with locals = raw culture, energy, traditions.
Playing with tourist-heavy bands = more curated, still fun—but different vibe.

3. J’ouvert is not just a party—it’s history. Mud, oil, paint… it all ties back to emancipation and freedom.

4. You will get messy. There is no “stay clean and cute” option. Accept your fate early. wear googles 🤷🏾‍♂️ 😂

5. Comfort over fashion.
Wear something you don’t love… because it will never be the same again.

6. Start time is REAL.
If they say 3–4AM… they mean it. This is not a “pull up later” event.

7. Hydration is key.
Yes, drinks are flowing… but water will save your life. Many bands have coconut water. This may possibly be your drink of choice.

8. Stick with your crew—but be ready to lose them. You’ll find them again… or make new friends along the road.

9. Music is the heartbeat.
From steelpan to jab rhythms—this is where culture speaks loudest. And not all bands have this.

10. After J’ouvert… the day is NOT done. Breakfast parties, Carnival Monday, then Tuesday… pace yourself 😅
