An autumn love story with impeccable timing. 💛🖤🍁🌙

Today, October 22, happens to be the final full day of Kanro, or “cold dew,” one of Japan’s 24 traditional seasonal phases. What better occasion to enjoy the magnificent @grandseikoofficial SBGE271 “Kanro”?

Inspired by the quiet beauty of an autumn night, the intricately textured black dial evokes a sky drifting with clouds, while the Spring Drive seconds hand glides silently across it like the moon overhead. A wonderfully poetic expression of nature through art and engineering, complemented by the warm gold GMT accents and a rich green strap.

Hard not to fall in love with that 🥰🍃🍂🍁🌙🌚🌓🌝🇯🇵🎑⌚️✨🌟

Real men wear pink 💘💗 Especially in October. 🩷🎗️

Chicago apparently decided we deserve a third summer, and with 80°F weather in October, I’m savoring every last minute of rubber strap season!

The reverse-panda @omega Speedmaster Professional might be one of the most versatile Moonwatches yet. Between the mirror-like black lacquer dial, brilliant white subdials, and ceramic bezel, it plays with light in ways I’d normally associate with dress watches. Quite remarkable for a watch with such utilitarian roots 🥰✨

And the GTA IV soundtrack? Come on, Niko and Roman would definitely rock this combo while cruising around Liberty City 🚨🌃🚔🚀🌗🧑‍🚀👩‍🚀🇨🇭🩷⌚️

A little cinematic drama for #BlueWatchMonday. 💙☀️✨

One of the things I love about the @parmigianifleurier Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante is just how unusual a GMT it really is: no date, no 24-hour scale and, when you don’t need a second timezone, not even a visible GMT hand. Press the pusher and the white-gold local hour jumps forward, revealing the rose-gold home-time hand beneath it; push the crown and they reunite. Serious complication hiding behind an almost impossibly clean dial and incredibly smooth execution.

PF really is operating on another level right now. Quiet watch, epic soundtrack. 💙✈️🏠🇨🇭⌚️✨

The King of Monsters famously destroyed an iconic landmark of horological. Years later a collaboration resulted in an exceptional limited edition which has lots of subtle nods to the things that make both cultural staples exceptional. #Godzilla x #GrandSeiko #SpringDrive #SBGA405 is something that was never on my radar until I saw a friends and then luckily one came up a few weeks later and, just like Godzilla to the fabled Ginza Wako Clock Tower, I snatched it up. Makes for a pretty spiffy #fridaynightlumebattle submission 🌟🇯🇵🏯🕰️💥🦖

The 14060 is the sweet spot for me.

It carries the soul of the old four-digit Submariners in the details I love most: the clean two-line dial and the warmth of tritium, both inherited from that earlier era. But it also brought the improvements that make it so easy to live with — an improved aluminium bezel, 300m water resistance and a sapphire crystal. The old and the new, in exactly the right proportions.

Iconic, beautiful, and without frills. A tool watch extraordinaire — perhaps the very definition of the term.

It was also my first Rolex. And if I were left with only one watch from my collection, it would be this one.

If you could keep only one watch, which would it be?

One of my favorite examples of complication hiding in plain sight for #BlueWatchMonday 💙🥶🥰

At first glance, the Milano blue @parmigianifleurier Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante is almost impossibly restrained — until the hour hands separate and the trick reveals itself. White gold follows you to local time while rose gold stays home; one push brings them right back together. A world-first complication that somehow makes the watch feel simpler rather than busier. Beautiful indeed. 💙✨✈️🏠⌚️

Last night was basically a support group for people who think “just one more watch” is a reasonable financial philosophy.

Such a fantastic night with @watchtimemagazine at @burdeenswatches in downtown Chicago, with the @chicagowatchsociety showing up in full force.

I’m incredibly grateful that this strange little world of horology has brought so many wonderful nerds into my life. The watches get us in the room. The people are why we stay.

And huge credit to the Burdeen’s team , they absolutely crushed it. A beautiful event, an incredible crowd, and a very good night to be a watch nerd in chicago. ❤️
