I LOVE love. ❤️

People see the final result, but they rarely see what it took to create something beautiful.

A truly successful event only happens when the ENTIRE team is on the same page with one goal:

“Whatever it takes to make this day perfect.”

Even after 20+ years in the industry, I still jot down things I learn after every single venue. No matter how experienced we are, there is always room for growth and improvement. I’m going to start sharing event tips weekly ❤️

Here are the first 3:

1. Choose a venue that values your vendors.
Before booking, make sure the venue will treat your vendors with the same respect they give you. Vendors can only perform at their best when they’re given the time, access, and cooperation they need. At the end of the day, we’re all working toward the same goal: giving you and your guests the best experience possible. This should be "Common sense" but we all know common sense isn't common & venues do give vendors a hard time for whatever reason🤷🏽‍♀️ You are spending your money, set this expectation with the venue.

2. Give your ceremony more time than you think you’ll need.
Even if your ceremony will only last 30 minutes, ask the venue to reserve a full hour for it. Most venues already do this, but make sure it’s included in your contract.

For example:
• Ceremony: 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
• Cocktail Hour: 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM
• Reception: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM

That built-in buffer allows for unexpected delays, gives guests additional time to arrive, and gives your vendor team the opportunity to make sure your reception is completely ready before guests enter. Even if it’s over early, your guests can still head to cocktail hour, take pictures, and enjoy the space.

3. Review every contract and invoice 2–3 weeks before your wedding.
This ensures everyone is on the same page and clearly understands their responsibilities before your big day.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is this:

If it’s not in writing, it never happened.

I hope these tips are helpful
