Road trip, destination: Kansas City, Missouri

There was a time when I talked about chasing the dream. Somewhere along the journey, I realized I’m not chasing it anymore. I’m living in it.

Another city. Another story. This time, Kansas City to shoot a documentary.

But what makes this journey special isn’t just the work. It’s the people I get to laugh with, build with, create with, and make memories with along the way.

I’m grateful for the miles, the moments, the stories, and the people beside me.

The dream isn’t somewhere ahead anymore.

This is it. And I’m enjoying the ride.

When you have a healthy film community.

One of the greatest things you can build in this industry isn’t just a résumé, it’s community.

People you trust. People you can call on. People who understand the craft, respect the work, and genuinely want to create something great together.

I’m grateful to have people around me who challenge me, support me, teach me, and allow me to do the same for them.

Great filmmaking requires talent, but a healthy film community is built on trust, respect, collaboration, and a shared love for the craft.

Protect that culture. Pour into it. And appreciate the people who build alongside you.

Some sets remind you why you fell in love with filmmaking.

Not because everything went perfectly, but because of the people who showed up every day with heart, passion, and a willingness to build something bigger than themselves.

Every long day.
Every problem solved.
Every extra hour.
Every department.

It all mattered.

As a director, I may help guide the vision, but that vision only comes to life because of an incredible team that’s willing to believe in it, challenge it, and pour themselves into it.

No one tells a story alone.

So if you have a team that believes in the mission, celebrates each other, and gives everything they have to the work, appreciate them openly.

Because if it wasn’t for your team, none of it would be possible.

“This is the kind of set that reminds you why you love the art.”

Directing has taught me that great storytelling is never a solo effort.

It’s about listening as much as leading. Creating an environment where talented people can bring their best ideas to the table, all in service of telling one story.

Every project reminds me there’s still more to learn. Every set is another opportunity to study the craft, challenge myself, and become a better storyteller than I was yesterday.

That’s the goal.

Not to arrive, but to keep growing.

To stay curious.

To stay intentional.

To keep earning the opportunity to tell stories that matter.

The work continues.

genuinely love being creative.

Not just because of what we get to make, but because of the people I get to create it with.

Every project is an opportunity to grow, collaborate, challenge myself, and become a better storyteller than I was the last time I stepped on set.

The work is never just about the final product. It’s about refining the craft, learning from the people around you, and enjoying the process while you’re in it.

That’s the beauty of filmmaking.

You never stop creating.
You never stop learning.
You never stop becoming.

And honestly… I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Maybe your next opportunity isn’t waiting for you to be ready.

Maybe it’s waiting for you to trust yourself enough to begin.

Too many people spend their lives preparing for the moment. Growth happens when you step into it.

Maybe the next chapter starts with one decision, one action, and a little courage.

Now go be great. The future you’ve been dreaming about is built by the actions you take today.

Even if you don’t feel seen, someone is watching… 🥺

In this industry, a lot of the art goes unnoticed before it’s appreciated.
The long nights. The passion. The sacrifice.

But your value isn’t in applause.
It’s in continuing to create when nobody’s clapping yet.
