Saturday, October 24 brings a whole lot of Halloween fun to the village, with something for little monsters, big monsters and everyone in between!

👻 At the Marsh Street Centre
Lions Club Pancake Brunch | 9–11 AM
Pumpkin Decorating | 9 AM–1 PM
Indoor Haunted House | 9 AM–1 PM
All free or by donation!

🌲 At Farmer's Pantry
Venture into the Haunted Maze! Open all day, $10 admission.

🍎 And for the grown-ups...
Theatre Collingwood presents Harvest Haunt at The Woodrow, SPY Cider House & Distillery's new event venue, starting at 6 PM. An evening of tasting flights, gourmet bites, immersive theatre, a silent auction and Monster Mash dance party, all in support of the arts. Tickets $150.

And in between? Take a wander through Clarksboorg. The village has acquired some rather unusual residents lately. 💀

Come for the Halloween fun, stay for the shops, café and eatery, and a little village mischief!

👻 The Halloween fun doesn't end Saturday! Nightmare on Marsh Street continues with more spooky happenings, including horror movie night, Halloween trick-or-treating and the annual Pumpkin Walk on November 1.

The scenic route is calling. And it has a few surprises. 🍂

Thornbury and Clarksburg have gone all out for autumn. Worth a visit? Absolutely. But don't turn around and head home just yet.

There's a whole valley to explore. Take the winding roads down to Kimberley, then loop around the other side toward Meaford. Different roads, different views, and a town that's every bit as much fun to explore in the fall.

Let yourself get a little lost. A few wrong turns wouldn't be the worst thing either, especially at this time of year.

Seven little shops worth pulling over for. All in Clarksburg.

Back in September, GB Buzz put out a call to readers across Grey Bruce for the little shops worth knowing, then turned their nominations into a 69-shop guide covering nine areas.

And tiny Clarksburg landed seven of those reader-picked spots.

Hindle’s. The Market on Marsh. Two Crows. Clarksburghers and Mountain Music, reDiscovered. Inheritance. Grey & Gold.

Come for the hardware store that still feels like a hardware store. Stay for vintage, art, music, very good coffee, something good to eat, cider, and whatever else catches your eye along the way.

There’s a point of view to the place. Things are chosen, collected and curated here.

Clarksburg is good at the unhurried stuff. Places where browsing is half the point. Shops where you end up talking to somebody.

A little analog, in the best possible way.

🎃 Nightmare on Marsh is here, and October in Clarksburg is stacked.👻

Around the village, Halloween is taking over with seasonal decorating, pumpkin carving, haunted houses and a haunted maze, trick-or-treating, the Monster Ball, the Pumpkin Walk and more.

And if you already know Marsh Street Centre, consider this your October reminder: there’s the great regular lineup of live music, theatre and film right here in the village. This month brings Practically Hip, Theatre Collingwood’s Get Down Tonight, Whitehorse, plus a suitably spooky October edition of @fantastic_cinema_club
(Clarksburg's cult/art-house/genre film club, and you can vote for your pick via the link in their bio).

Village decorating gets underway Fri Oct 9, with the calendar carrying right through to Nov 1.

The first thing you notice at Kimber Valley Farms is the view. The second is how much care goes into everything.

The animals, the barns, the grounds, the little wool shop. Nothing feels accidental. Nothing feels overlooked. There’s an attention to detail here that you feel everywhere you go.

The heritage Icelandic sheep are at the heart of the farm, with horses in the fields and Shasta, the guard donkey, keeping watch. Visitors can book farm tours and fibre workshops, browse the Farm Shop, or stay in one of the peaceful off-grid cabins tucked into the property.

Kimber Valley Farms joined the Clarksburg Village Association earlier this season, adding a very special Beaver Valley experience to the mix.

And there’s a very good reason to put them on your radar this week: their Fall Farmers & Makers Market is Saturday, October 3, from 11–4, with 40+ farmers and artisans, live music, a photo booth and, of course, Icelandic sheep.

Clarksburg Day, you did this. 🌼

There was something wonderfully old-fashioned about it.

A closed street. Colourful flags and balloons swaying in the breeze. Music all day. Kids and dogs, vendors and visitors, neighbours and local businesses, all sharing the street.

More than once, we heard that people had never seen Clarksburg quite like this.

For a first Clarksburg Day, it was something pretty special.

Huge thanks to Robert Brown of the Thornbury Beaver Valley Lions Club, who dreamed it up and did so much to bring it to life, and to the Lions, community partners, volunteers, musicians, vendors, businesses and everyone who came out and filled the street.

And our soundtrack could only come from the day itself: @theruthvensisters , live at Clarksburg Day, with their beautiful take on “Delta Dawn.” Thank you for letting us use it. 🎶

This one’s going to stay with us for a while. 🌼
