POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

On September 5, at Purified Seattle, I saw something I’d written down in 2022 come to life.

When I left Big Tech after a career with Digital Equipment, Compaq, HP, Microsoft, Facebook and Google, I wanted to continue my mission of bringing people closer and making information more accessible. This time, in person and in real life. Creating healthy distractions. Places to be present, find joy and feel connected.

In 2022, I wrote a simple business plan and went all in, investing my life’s savings. The vision brought together events, unique venues and technology serving people.

I started with what I knew and worked from the bottom up.

I also started writing about everything I’d suppressed for years. That became my approach to Thrive Culture: bringing purpose, fulfillment and well-being together, while accepting that we’re all imperfect and still growing.

After years of revenue targets and scorecards, what grounded me was a simple goal: bring as many people together as possible.

The plan is still the plan. More people have stepped up, shared their talents and believed enough to help. Together, through ViViD Presents and On the Hiyu, we keep building.

September 5 felt like a breakthrough. Lake Union Park, filled with music, love and connection, reminded me how far we’ve come together.

To our team, artists, partners, friends and everyone who has shown up: thank you. You’ve helped bring this to life.

I’m sharing the original plan, my Thrive Culture writing and “Our Time to Shine,” my early podcast conversation with @garydanoff on Spotify ,for a look at where this began.

Many of you have asked how you can help. Yes, we need help. Spread the word, leave an honest Google review for On the Hiyu, share constructive feedback and hold us accountable to do better.

To volunteer at our events, explore a partnership or share ideas, DM me or email Jody@onthehiyu.com.

Our goal is to be the best partner to partner with and create meaningful grassroots impact in our community and the world.

There’s no target date or end date. We just keep building and learning together.

Thank you for helping us keep building with more love, energy and creativity.

We’re still flying high and honestly this one will stay with us for a very long time.

Purified by @noraenpure took over Lake Union Park on Saturday, and you made it unforgettable.

Here’s the thing: we can build the stage and pick the location, shape the environment and imagine the experience. But it’s the artists and people who bring it to alive. And you did. Every single one of you who came out, danced, sang, and stayed till the very end.

Thank you for filling Lake Union Park with joy, connection, openness, love, and incredible energy.

Together we made Purified Seattle a celebration we’ll remember for a lifetime.

So tell us: how was your experience? Feedback is a gift, and yours helps us grow. Share your stories and thoughts in the comments. We’d love to hear them 🖤

Last Friday, @this.is.obsidian took over @theshopclubs for @mita_gami and @gudfella’s Seattle debut - and we were behind the scenes helping to run it 🖤

You might know us as the floating venue. But on the Hiyu’s team also helps bring other producers’ shows to life across the city - the kind of work that keeps the night running while everyone’s on the dance floor.

Got something in the works? Let’s build it together - info@onthehiyu.com

New Season. New Energy. Season 2026 @onthehiyu

Adrift feat. @lightleak_ by @dillydisco x @discofishevents was something special.

Huge respect to everyone who helped bring yesterday to life. The energy on the water, the music, the people, the atmosphere. It all came together in a way that reminded us why we do this.

Season 2026 aboard @onthehiyu is already shaping up to be our most memorable yet.

Thank you Seattle. And congratulations to every artist, crew member, partner, and guest who made yesterday possible. @discofishevents @dillydisco thank you for the opportunity to support your vision come to fruition.
