And then… **THEY CHOSE TO STOP TOGETHER.** ❤️

Both still looked surprisingly fresh, but after five incredible days of running, they decided not to chase a higher result.

FOUR DAYS. ONE TEAM. ONE MORE LAP. 🇦🇺

Four days at Kembla Grange watching the Australian team battle it out at the Backyard Ultra World Team Championships, and I’m still trying to process what I witnessed.

The Aussie spirit. The camaraderie. The determination.

Watching these athletes push themselves beyond what seemed possible, digging deeper every hour just to make it back to the start line for another lap. Another opportunity to contribute one more point for Australia.

The exhaustion was real. So was the emotion. But what stood out most was the way they supported each other. Athletes, crew, families and supporters all pulling together.

It wasn’t just about individual performances. It was about the team.

To every member of Team Australia — congratulations. Every lap mattered, every athlete contributed, and every one of you gave something extraordinary to the team.

And to everyone behind the scenes who made it possible, what an incredible event to be part of.

Four days I’ll never forget.

Just one more loop. 🇦🇺

What a race! 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

Really grateful to have had the chance to represent my country alongside 14 incredible athletes.

The outcome is so much more than one person, and there was really a sense of mateship and camaraderie which helped us all get as far as we did. It’s been epic running with you all and pushing Australia forward.

I was really touched by the amount of support around us. On the course, at the race hub, and those tuning in online. Thank you for cheering us on and lifting our spirits.

To my crew, thank you for getting me through every lap and never missing a beat. To Murray for travelling all the way down from Bali to support me. To mum and dad for driving over. And to my beautiful wife for always being by my side. I couldn’t have gotten there without you!

I’m keen to take what I’ve learnt at this race and keep pushing forward. But first, a break!

And a huge thank you to these legends for their ongoing support:
