An incredible rafting trip in the desert with a couple of my favorite river rats started out with a flight to the put-in ramp at Sand Wash in Desolation Canyon. A trip on this river about 15 years ago with the same ne’er-do-wells convinced me to become a raft guide for a while. Unique experience to see it with them again. My old band The Trees recorded the song in this video back in our Portland living room, but we never released it anywhere. Hope you enjoy it.

📍 @redcliffslodgemoab Discovery Stay🏜️ We were honored to be invited for Red Cliffs Lodge’s grand reopening celebration following a year-long property-wide renovation. The transformation is incredible! They have 110 redesigned suites and cabins. Ember, a brand new restaurant with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Colorado River. A renovated lobby flooded with natural light and hip and cozy bar and lounge. Red Cliffs Lodge Moab is a place where Western charm meets modern luxury. We spent three incredible days here as VIP guests, scouting it as a destination for our adventure clients who want their celebration to be a full multi-day experience. There are no words…. Pictures and videos don’t do justice to how amazing the views were on our flight with @redtailair They offer a fall foliage tour of the Wasatch Front and it is spectacular. Shelby and I got married 2 years ago today 9/27/24 and to celebrate we went on a plane ride to see the Fall Colors Of The Wasatch Tour! This time of year has always been our favorite, not only because it’s our anniversary but it’s also when the leaves are most vibrant. Even while dating we made it a big tradition to go see the leaves together, it’s literally our favorite activity. To see it from the air together was an experience we’ll never forget. There’s so much that you can’t see when you’re hiking and driving through the canyons. Flying high above opened up a new world of leaf peeping, we could see everything on the mountain! Cliffs, chutes, ridges, peaks and river beds all dressed in evening light and autumn color. I love you even more than the autumn leaves, and that’s saying something 😉🍁! I love a good river trip. Especially one that starts with a small plane ride to a dirt airstrip. There’s nothing better than days on the water, floating, taking it all in. The whitewater and the flat water. The beach camps. Camp meals that somehow beat anything I make at home. Nights under the stars, the games, the laughs, the hikes in between, flying kites while paddling down the river. It’s also where the best brand work happens. Days on a river give you what a studio never will :real moments, real light, real people actually using the gear.
