MONDAY MOTIVATION

No act of kindness is ever wasted. Someone, somewhere, is better because you chose to care.

As you step into this new week, remember that even the smallest act of kindness can make a big difference. A kind word, a helping hand, or simply showing up for someone could mean more than you know.

This week, choose kindness. Choose humanity. Choose to make a difference.

Flooding can happen quickly, but being prepared can save lives. 🌧️🚨

Before, during and after heavy rainfall, take simple steps to reduce your risk:

🏠 Keep gutters and drainage channels clear.
🚫 Don’t dump refuse in waterways or block drainage paths.
🌊 Avoid walking or driving through flooded areas, especially when the water is moving.
📱 Stay informed about weather and flood alerts in your area.
🆘 If flooding occurs, move to a safer, higher location and report emergencies to the appropriate authorities in your state.

Disaster risk reduction starts with all of us. Stay alert. Stay safe. Act early.

❤️ YOUR HEALTH MATTERS — BUT WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CHECKED?

When was the last time you checked your blood pressure?

Do you know your blood sugar level?

Have you ever been tested for Hepatitis B or HIV?

And do you actually know what your BMI says about your health?

Sometimes, we feel perfectly fine and assume everything is okay—until a simple health check tells us otherwise. Knowing your numbers can help you make better decisions about your health.

That’s why the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Oyo State Branch is bringing you a MEGA HEALTH OUTREACH with FREE health screenings for Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar, Hep B, HIV and BMI.

We’re also using the opportunity to give back through a Cloth Drive. If you have clean, freshly laundered clothes that you no longer need, they can become a blessing to someone else. ❤️

📅 Thursday, 1st October 2026
⏰ 9:00 AM
📍 No. 2 Onireke Layout, Dugbe, Ibadan, Oyo State (Red Cross Office)

So, when was the last time you checked? Don’t wait until you feel sick to start paying attention to your health.

Come. Get checked. Know your numbers. Share the opportunity with someone you care about. ❤️⛑️

FROM LAGOS TO OYO, HUMANITY TRAVELS. ❤️⛑️

On Monday, we received a generous donation of clean clothes all the way from Lagos to support the Clothes Bank of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Oyo State Branch.

Distance didn’t stop kindness from reaching where it was needed. Every piece donated is an opportunity to bring comfort, dignity, and hope to someone in need.

To our thoughtful donor, thank you for choosing to give and for helping us keep the spirit of humanity alive. ❤️

HAPPY NEW WEEK

True change begins when ordinary people choose to care.

You don’t have to do something extraordinary to make a difference. Sometimes, it starts with helping someone in need, checking on a neighbour, learning first aid, volunteering your time, or simply choosing kindness when you have the opportunity.

This week, be that person who cares. Be that person who helps. Be that person who chooses humanity. ❤️

Let’s make this week count—one act of kindness, one helping hand, and one life at a time.

Happy New Week! ⛑️❤️

⛑️ WORLD FIRST AID DAY 2026 — FIRST AID IN MIGRATION CONTEXTS ❤️

First aid knows no borders.

People on the move may face unfamiliar environments, emergencies, injuries, and health challenges. In these moments, a helping hand and the right first aid knowledge can make a real difference.

Wherever people are, care should follow. 🌍❤️

Let’s build a world where everyone is empowered to respond, support, and save lives — regardless of where they come from or where they are going.

LEARNING, SERVING & HAVING FUN ALONG THE WAY! ❤️⛑️

This week, the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Oyo State Branch welcomed our CDS Corps Members to the Branch Office for their weekly Thursday CDS meeting.

The session featured an insightful training led by the Branch Secretary on proper casualty manual handling — teaching the correct and safe ways to carry and transport an injured person after treatment. ⛑️

With practical demonstrations, hands-on learning, questions, laughter, and teamwork, it was an engaging session filled with valuable knowledge and, of course, a little fun! ❤️

We’re always happy to have our CDS Corps Members with us and look forward to more opportunities to learn, serve, and grow together.

START THE CONVERSATION. 💛

Sometimes, the people who seem okay are fighting battles we know nothing about.

This World Suicide Prevention Day — September 10th, take a moment to ask, “Are you okay?”
Listen without judgment. Check in. Let someone know they don’t have to face it alone.

One conversation can make a difference. Start the conversation. 💛

START THE CONVERSATION. 💛

Sometimes, the people who look okay on the outside are quietly fighting battles we know nothing about.

This World Suicide Prevention Day — September 10th, let’s remind ourselves that one simple conversation can make a difference.

Ask, “Are you okay?”
Listen without judgment.
Check in. Stay present. And let someone know they don’t have to face it alone.

Let’s create a world where people feel safe to speak, supported to seek help, and reminded that their lives matter.

Start the conversation. Listen. Support. Save a life.
