Last Thursday, we held our 11th annual Sporting Clays Challenge, and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day! ☀️

Our 25 teams took to the course, competing for prizes while enjoying a great day of friendly competition and camaraderie.

A special thank you to JE Dunn Corporation, JM Fahey Construction, Reed Automotive Group, and U.S. Engineering for their support of this year’s event. We’re grateful for the support of all our incredible sponsors and dedicated committee members who help make the Sporting Clays Challenge possible each year.

We’re already looking forward to next year’s challenge! 🏆

Some days you feel like you've got nothing left and you show up anyway.

This journey is just getting started.

I almost didn’t hit “submit.” 🫣

As a creative marketing strategist and entrepreneur, I have spent my life building brands and telling everyone else’s story. But when it came to my own? I have been at a standstill. Unsure. And you know what… I am still unsure.

Growing up in the country, the rodeo always felt like home, but being on the other side of the fence with a camera felt like a dream I wasn’t “qualified” for yet. I’ve always loved shooting events, but I kept waiting for the perfect portfolio or the “right” time.

Then I saw @elizabethsinglesocial doing the damn thing and it opened my eyes.

The day before the American Royal, I decided to say screw it. I applied for a media pass, fully expecting a “no” since I hadn’t dabbled in this space yet. The next morning—the day of the event—I got the email. Accepted. I showed up nervous, excited, and slightly out of my element. But you guys… my cup is overflowing. And through every edit of photo (SO EXCITED TO GET THESE OUT THERE) or cut of video, I can’t stop smiling. There is something about the grit, the dust, and the raw energy of a rodeo that strategy just can’t touch.

It turns out, your “someday” can be today if you’re brave enough to stop asking for permission and just freaking do the thing that scared you, that lights you up.

I’m an entrepreneur but I’m also just a girl in the dirt with the camera. And feel like I am just getting started.
