These silhouettes made it through sixty years of garages and yard sales. There’s a reason.

Mid-century furniture earned its shape the slow way - leaned on, sat in, scratched by actual life. ASH fills every one of those scars with color instead of sanding them away, and that’s exactly why the work belongs here: the wear isn’t damage, it’s the record that the piece was loved enough to keep. Old things aren’t finished. They’re waiting for the next hands.

A lot of this mixed media art furniture exhibition has already gone home with someone, and there’s still a room full waiting to meet theirs. Final weekend to see it in person, last week for Club pricing.

Happy Birthday, @reedstillwell !

This gem of a human is a creative force and a beacon of light for anyone lucky enough to know them. Hilarious, generous, brimming with empathy and altruism.

The first two slides are from a photo shoot back in December 2016 when Reed was running for public office. We wanted to capture their authenticity, style, and essence. 💯

The third slide was taken in September 2020 on the location set of the feature film, “Feathered”, which Reed wrote and directed. I grabbed this shot of her sketching as we finished setting up the first shot of the day. 🎥🎬 Reed never stops using their creative superpowers, which elevates everyone else.

I’m so blessed to have Reed in my tribe. I wouldn’t go to the Mojave Desert in the height of a global pandemic to make a movie for anyone else. When Reed and @haviland ask, you say “yes” and you go on the adventure. 😉🩵

Sending Reed birthday love and excited wishes for the next trip around the sun. I’m excited to see what creative adventures lie ahead!

If you only had 14 years with the love of your life, how would you spend them?

I’d take him everywhere.

I’d let him steal the scene, greet every stranger, become everyone’s dog while always being mine.

I’d give him a purple tail. A thousand adventures. A front-row seat to every version of me.

And I’d love him so completely that when the time came to say goodbye, I could say we didn’t waste a single day.

One last LA dinner last night. It was imperative I have authentic Mexican food before I head to the land avocados forgot.

I came to LA on vacation……22 years ago. It’s been a helluva vacation. These people (and many not pictured) have been the absolute best travel buddies and I am the absolute luckiest.

Fisher and I are off on our next adventure and I am certain LA will always be part of our future. What happens next is wildly unclear, but as they say… “leap and the London Bridge will appear!” (trust me, they say it all the time)

Happy FRYday! 🍟🍟🍟

Whenever @reedstillwell is cooking for you, you know it’s going to be legit. They made hand cut French fries to accompany some delicious steaks and the process was meticulous and careful.

Hand cut. Soaked to remove extra starch. Blotted dry. Double fried in small batches in peanut oil for the perfect texture and crunch. Tossed with a pinch of sea salt. PERFECTION. 💯

Thank you to @haviland and Reed for inviting me to Mother’s Day brunch to celebrate Mama Cyn. Incredible food, wonderful people, and great conversation. 🩵🩵🩵

All other French fries, bow down. The new benchmark has been established.
