The 3rd Reed Zine Fest is a wrap! What a fun whirlwind day it was! So many zine friends under one roof, together with all our students who have worked so hard over the last year to gain publishing and printing skills, plus so enjoyed getting to chat with Bratty x Bre, our keynote speaker, who I’m really inspired by!

This year was student run and zine czars Aida and Andreanna did a tremendous job choosing the direction of this year’s fest, with Chloe leading the charge, with myself coming in for day-of support since I was on family leave this past month.

One of my roles today was purchasing zines for the @reedzinelibrary and it is always so fun to get to chat with so many zine tablers and see all the zine work up close! It is time consuming work so I appreciated Natalie’s and Sterling’s support! Loved how many first time tablers showed up~ it takes some bravery to make a zine and then try to sell them to strangers. I hope all our zine tablers left feeling good about at least one interaction, hopefully good vibes were flowing.

A huge team of library student workers from all different library departments helped out make the zine fest run! It is because of them that things ran smoothly~ from decorating, check in, zine purchasing, workshop facilitation, marketing, clean up, etc!

Every year has a unique feel with different teams running things, and this year the student leadership really shone~ and tons of trading amongst tablers which is a cornerstone of zine fest culture!!

A thousand hugs to Chloe, Aida, Andreanna, Percy, Lutetia, Jasper, Peggy, Destiny, Harnoor, Natalie, Sterling, Polly, Gen, Jaden, Skye, etc! It takes a whole community to make a massive zine fest fly, and I’m so so proud of us all! And thank you to all our zine tablers who showed up with amazing work and told their friends to come too~ together we all make Reed Zine Fest one of the many peoples favorite zine fest in town!

Friends that #zine together, stay together! 🥰✨ I just wanna take a moment to celebrate my dear friend Emmet aka @eggo 💕 What an honor it has been to be your bestie all these years since we became friends while slaving for the siren 😂 I am so proud to have witnessed the evolution and now to see the gorgeous artwork, zines and stickers he is selling today makes me so happy 🥹💕 We are sitting next to each other today at the Reed Zine Fest @reed and there’s well over 100+ community and Reed student zine tablers at Reed College in Kaul Auditorium! 🤯
This years zine fest is student organized by Zine Czars Aida Taha @ai.d.a.ai.d.a and Andreanna Gude @andeeszines, and they are bringing you mini keynotes, art workshops, a keynote by special guest @brattyxbre, treat vendors @shop_halo_halo @jbae.kery @kukki.pdx, a mini zine library and an epic late night afterparty in the Student Union with live bands and zine rave by @krrc.reed 🌸
Reedies have worked all year round in preparation of this upcoming weekend, attending skill-based workshops, connecting with each other at Zine Club, organizing zine displays to increase zine readership and access through the Library, and supporting other local zine fests.🌈
All are invited, all ages, free and open to the public.
Reed campus is fully accessible, high quality KN 95 masks are required!
