2 great events in one night! First off to @jimmylanerealestate party at the yacht club with fantastic food and a pretty amazing dirty martini fountain! Then off to @reefy33040 show at the Tropic with singer songwriter David Lowery from Cracker!

Day Zero of Key West, 2026 — I love the @keywestliteraryseminar and am honored to be teaching a workshop here this year: “Telling Your Story: The Art of the Memoir.” To kick things off on landing day, a lovely reception at the newly restored Elizabeth Bishop House. The last time I was here, the garden was still being worked on — the KWLS really did a terrific job researching & putting in some of the trees and plants that were in her backyard when she lived there. It’s such a magical space. And I LOVED getting to peek into her kitchen, where the fabulous @lcbarr was working her magic, making conch fritters and butternut squash & goat cheese tartlets. I want to bake cookies in there! Wonderful seeing writers I adore, @jamiattenberg , @mauriceruffin , @rosalindbrackenbury , @katrinschumann , & Key Westers I love and miss @keywestnan @markhedden @diane.shelby.16 @reefy33040 . Thank you, Katrin, Katie, Arlo & the KWLS team for inviting me back. Supper was pizza @ my favorite pizzeria , @onlywoodgrill @onlywoodkw (highly recc the sausage & broccoli rabe white pie), with the sweet @annkolson . Oh, and I made sure to visit China Garden for some noodles — the secret Chinese menu is still there! Looking forward to the seminar this week. 💚 #keywestliteraryseminar #writing #thewritinglife #elizabethbishop #keywest
