Fresh from Paris, @davidguison stepped into the re-see of @celine Men’s SS27, where Michael Rider’s debut menswear collection proved even more magnetic up close.

His vision of the CELINE man feels impossible to box in: part prep-school rebel, part downtown romantic, part rockstar, and part art-school eccentric.

Michael Rider’s vision for @celine continues to hit a new stride, and this SS27 show cements it.

Alongside a new partnership with @reebok, the collection doubled down on razor-slim trousers, capri pants, and shredded denim paired against loose aristocratic jackets and dramatic balloon trousers that moved with rockstar ease.

Burgundy, red, pink, and optic white flooded the runway, while zebra prints and fringes pushed the collection somewhere between Parisian decadence and Brazilian beach nightlife.

One minute the CELINE man looked like French royalty on vacation in Rio, the next he looked ready to headline an indie band at 2AM.

There was a little boho, a little corporate sleaze, a little gorpcore swagger, but underneath all of it was a very clear message: skinny is back. And judging by SS27, CELINE plans on making it cool again.
