I’ve had to unlearn a lot about being a creative.

Some beliefs sounded like good advice until I actually started doing the work.

Turns out, you can change your mind, change direction, outgrow old work, try again, and still be a serious creative.

Still learning. Still unlearning. Still creating. 😂

What’s one thing you had to unlearn?

I am building something that is not just excellent but something that is worth it. Something that stays with you. Something that you smile at each time you remember.

Something that is not just about structured poses but something that is your true identity & if you ever have to ask yourself why “MAUREEN JAMES ???”

I hope these slides give you a proper highlight to what it feels like to work with me.

Thank you 🤲

I started. Clueless. I built. Afraid. I made mistakes with shaky hands. I gained momentum. I met people. Entered solid rooms. Sat on tables. Became extremely confident. Days where I didn’t know why but above all; God knew it all. 💯

I panicked. Lost my all my accounts. Gained it back one after the other. Lost gigs. Gained even more gigs. Grew a community. Held by firm hands. Got words of encouragement from people I’ve never met. People saw this, people saw me, people saw my skills and always said: “it’ll always be you, MAUREEN. It really has to be YOU”🤞💯

I’m just here to say THANK YOU to everyone who saw the beginning of it all, people who caught up in the middle, people who poured into this mix to make it so firm. You will forever be my why. 🤞

To UJAI EVENTS @ujaievents ; you made me bold in this journey. I didn’t even choose to be here but your support made me see that this is the one. We’ve worked countless times. Several projects & I’ve made mistakes but you always show up. You recommend and refer me to your people. “It’ll always be you, MAUREEN. It really has to be MAUREEN”. I’m grateful. 🥺🤞

To my friends; every single one of you gave me wings to fly and I hope I keep making you proud even as I fly forward. 🤞

To my sister; blood is really thicker than water & yea, you’ll always be my WHY. 🤞

To everyone of you who gets to read this; every event planner I’ve worked with. Everyone of you who saw me and said she’s the one. everyone of you who has cheered me on, everyone of you who single-handedly refers me; I don’t have the world to give to you but I pray that when you call on 1, nations will answers. 🧎‍♀️‍➡️

On the closing note of this; I’ll say that: The world is very close to me & right now I am just making stops.

Welcome to a new dispensation! Nothing ends here. We’re just forging ahead. 🦅

This is why you need to have memories on snap chat.

Apparently this time last year, I was training people to become virtual assistants, like I was already 1 month and some weeks in, and it was a 3 months program.

Looking at the designs, the content created, the excitement, the time, the team, my facilitators, o man, I feel nothing but gratitude. Total and complete gratitude.

It was one night I was meant to sleep lol, I didn’t, I was awake and I turned what was to be an internship to a mentorship.

I marketed, people registered and I taught. It can only be God.

One of our facilitators even sponsored two people’s payment, it can only be God.

I look back and even though we lost our page that had all the gist, I can never lose my mind that knew I did that.

Thank you God for showing your love to this girl, thank you to every one of my mentees, thank you to my facilitators, thank you to my team, thank you to my friends who supported.

Wow, we double the audacity is all I’ll say 🫶🏼🫶🏼🔥🔥🥰🥰

Happy birthday my sisterrr,
To know you is to love you. You are love! You are light! You are selflessness embodied! You are kindness! You are strength!

Writing about you means sitting in front of my keyboard for hours and hours because there are simply no words that could ever fully describe who you are! In this lifetime and the next, it’ll always be you, my sister. I’ll always choose you. Only in the next, I’ll be the one taking care of you, just as you have shielded me and taken care of me. Happy birthdayyy!

I love you!🤍

Maureen of the most high God, Let’s keep the caption brief because the epistle had already been sent in private.😂
You’re one of the best visual storytellers I know, and I am privileged to be your friend.
Happy birthday to you! Soar and let the earth witness your greatness ✨❤️

If we live, we live for the Lord
And if we die; we die for the Lord.
So, whether we live or die,
We belong to the LORD.
