My first season of IDA was such an amazing learning and growing experience. I had an amazing last show of the season getting 🥉 in my region for upper training! Tiki and Elvis were the best boys this weekend in the dressage ring! Thank you @mallory.chamberslane for coaching me through my first year of intercollegiate dressage and for always pushing me to ride with the best of my ability. It had been such a a pleasure being apart of @centenary_ida with the best team members!

Last weekend finished out the fall show season with a double header!

The Centenary home show was a massive success, with big thanks going to the team, volunteers, faculty, and of course horses who made my first hosted show as a captain so successful. It couldn’t have happened without my incredible cocaptain Shelby and Coach Mallory! It was truly amazing to watch each and every Centenary rider progress this season. Mo gave me a wonderful ride to earn a 66%+ and a 3rd place after a costly rider error.

Unpictured, we also rode at Delaware Valley, where Cole helped me to a 5th place and 67%+.

What a way to end fall season- and we’ll keep pushing to be better in the spring!

Apparently October is the perfect month for horse showing — and for back-to-back weekends in the ring! 🍁I’m so grateful to be part of such a close-knit and supportive team. Huge thank you to the seniors who came back to cheer us on, to horses like Hank who give it their all every ride, and to @mallory.chamberslane for helping me find my footing in this whole dressage thing. Couldn’t ask for better teammates, teachers, or ponies to share it all with!

Next up is Reese!

Reese is one of our Lower Training level riders and new to the team this semester. Reese is a Sophomore majoring in Equine Business Management and Equine PR and Marketing. Her favorite Centenary horse is Turkey!

Fun fact: Reese has a baby ball python named Cornelius.

Good luck this spring, Reese! 🌪️💙

Check out my good friend @rcgallagher_ ‘s article for The Plaid Horse, ‘The Importance of Donated Horses in our Industry’ discussing how equine programs like ours can thrive, fostering good horsemanship with the help of our wonderful horses such as Denmark 😊🤍
