I’ve been trying to find the right words, and honestly I’m not sure they exist..

To my BRIO cast… thank you. Thank you for trusting me, for believing in something that only existed in my head a few days ago, and for giving every piece of yourselves to it. Creating an entire show in five days sounds impossible, and there were moments where it absolutely felt that way. But somehow, because of each of you, it also felt easy. You made every rehearsal, every change, every conversation, every late night, and every risk worth it.

You brought this world to life with so much honesty and heart. You cared for one another, you stayed open, you stayed curious, and you never stopped showing up. BRIO is what it is because of you. I hope you know how proud I am of every single one of you and how grateful I am that I get to create alongside humans like you.

And to the entire Intrigue family… thank you. Your support, your kindness, and the way you welcomed BRIO into Nationals means more than I can express. Thank you to every crew member who worked behind the scenes to make this show happen. You made us feel seen, supported, and cared for every step of the way.

A very special thank you to Kevin and Lorraine for believing in me enough to invite me back for a second show at Intrigue Nationals. That trust is something I will never take for granted. Thank you for continuing to create space for artists to dream, to take risks, and to share work that matters. @kevaubin @lorraine_aubin

I don’t even know where to begin. Starting @he.art.dancecompany has been one of my biggest dreams and to see its first season come to an end with almost two completely sold out showings of “when the spine speaks” is completely unfathomable to me. Creating this show has been one of the most incredible, difficult and scariest experiences of my life. Putting all my most personal stories out there for the audience to witness was absolutely terrifying, but equally as beautiful. This show tore me down, rebuilt me, and most importantly healed me. I will forever and always cherish every moment this show brought me.

@alaynatayloredwards, thank you so much for the poetry that helped shape and give a voice to this show. Your words bring a deeper meaning to every moment on stage and they truly helped bring my vision to life. But your contribution is far beyond the page. You brought kindness, encouragement, laughter, and unwavering support throughout this entire process. More than a collaborator, you have been a true friend. I am endlessly grateful for your heart, your artistry, and your presence in this journey.

@he.art.dancecompany. No words will ever be able to describe the amount of gratitude I have for each one of you. You all have gone above and beyond every expectation I could’ve had and truly made the first season of he(art) so special for me. Your dedication, passion, artistry, and commitment have shaped this show into something truly special, and it wouldn’t have been possible without every single one of you. Thank you for not only sharing your talent with me, but your he(art). I love you all so much.

And lastly, thank you to all my friends & family who came out to support me, my company and this show. Your encouragement, love, and presence mean more than you will ever know. I am eternally grateful and am so happy I got to celebrate this show with all of you.

“when the spine speaks” may be the end of this chapter, but it’s just the beginning of the book. 📕🫀
