The music video for Synesthesis is out now, and our new song is available everywhere you listen to music. This was a fun one. A massive thanks to @reesgibbons who shot this video for us at Andrew’s Lake at dusk, during a thunderstorm.

To the person who thinks they are better off alone, this message is for you. (I have never shared this so openly and vulnerably so I trust this message is for a specific person.)

It was less than 2 years ago where I was in your same position.

I would spend the majority of my time by myself, thinking I couldn't trust anyone and that no one would ever understand me.

That the world was a scary place that I couldn't open my heart in.

There would be moments where I would break out of this spell and allow the joy of human connection to enter me.

I would feel my walls coming down, and actually really enjoy it. But quickly recoil into avoidance, story telling and ultimately more isolation.

And even though there was a shadowy aspect of my ego that felt strong for 'being on my own', I was actually deeply hurting inside. Lonely. Alone.

Yurning for true community, closeness and love.

To be fully seen and loved in my messiness. (And I am a very messy human).

I would journal/ pray about how badly I wanted my 'tribe', sisterhood and dream community.

But what I didn't expect while manifesting that was how much of my old self would have to die to get there.

How many times I would have to open my heart and let the venom of past/ failed relationships ooze out.

How many times I would put myself out there and burst into tears because letting people in after isolating for so long felt unbearable.

But I did it over and over again, until my body start recognizing that I can trust myself to make the right call.

That I can trust the divine to bring the people that are meant for me into my life.

That even if someone comes along and does hurt me, that it is all a part of the higher plan.

That I am resilient enough to hold my destiny 🌹

And that every time we allow ourselves to let go of our fear, we stabilize our entire system within the light of the divine

🦋💫🦋💫🦋

You are going to make mistakes

You are going to be human

You are going to open your heart one day

And you might close it down the next.

But after enough trials and willingness to meet love again and again and again, you will find yourself.

And once you find yourself, you will soon fi

there is so much beauty in being a beginner

on day five of our sixteen-day grand canyon rafting trip, aiden looked at me and said

“grace, you have to take out the duckie...you’re going to love it"

psa: a duckie is an inflatable kayak

i’d kayaked before but never through grand canyon rapids

everything in the canyon is turned up about ten notches, even “fun” feels expert mofo level

so yes, I was naturally hella nervous

and when you are miles in, it can be a life or death situation if an emergency happens and the only way out is helicopter

and so as I strapped on my helmet and climbed into my floating ship, a part of me was terrified

and another part of me is a dare devil

muahaha so I was also super excited

“if they can do it, so can I,” I kept telling myself

then the first rapid hit fast

suddenly I was flying through emerald water, waves crashing over me and my arms paddled fast as my heart raced

my fellow duckie brothers sam, aiden and jason coached me, they taught me how to read the water, shift my weight and trust the river instead of fighting it

and between the fear, adrenaline and laughter…

I remembered what it felt like to be a beginner

I felt awkward, scared and unsure

I asked “dumb” questions and learned in real time

I've realized that as we get older, we start believing we’re supposed to have it all figured out so we stop trying new things because we don’t want to get hurt, fail or be seen learning

but everything you admire started with someone willing to be a beginner

later that day we hiked to a hidden waterfall, celebrated wolf’s birthday in animal costumes, howled at the moon, danced to early 2000s bangers and fell asleep under the stars (swipe for the camp view)

and as I lay in my sleeping bag, I wrote in my journal

every time i’ve said yes to something that scared me just enough, life has surprised me in ways I never could’ve planned

maybe the life you want isn’t waiting for you to be ready

maybe it’s waiting for you to begin and say yes

so tell me…

when was the last time you did something for the first time?

nothing can fully prepare you

no amount of pictures or wise words

this is one of those places that has to be experienced

and when you make it to redwall cavern at mile 33

pictures simply cannot do it justice

you will feel as though you are walking into the eye of a god

arriving on the shore of this ginormous ampitheater

carved by high river flows into the canyon's limestone walls

and from afar, the cave looks deceptively small

it's not until you start walking into the gaping expanse that you'll realize just how impressive it is

and you'll feel it's powerful energy like you’ve just entered a portal

a cave filled with the wisdom of a million years

and it’s not just the psychedelics you ate that morning

you may have just entered an entirely different dimension

you sit there in awe and in deep belly laughter with friends

for the walls that seem to go on forever force you to contemplate your very own existence

with cool soft white sand beneath your toes you imagine cave men sitting in your place

the kind of place that inspires you to grab your journal and write

and to capture with your camera the mystery and the magic

your river family plays spikeball and you join in slapping the bag

drinking in sweet tea and moments of joy

you'll wish you could stay longer

you'll wish you could stay forever

for the cavern holds magic

but when you have to go and you continue your journey

you may just start to cry, as the tears stream down your face as you see the canyon stretch out betore you

you'll realize this is a trip unlike any before

because you’ve never quite seen or experienced anything so beautiful

a canyon so gorgeous it takes your breath away

filling you with gratitude and enlightenment

a reminder mother earth holds us close

she tells us life is so very sweet and fragile

and to be here now 🫶🏻

Oh, to be rich...

rich in moments like these

to have a life filled with the kind of love that sets the soul on fire

to be wealthy in adventure, laughter, in memories

and with the people that make you feel most alive

true abundance is not in possessions

but in the depth of the experiences you’ve had

and the love you’ve given and received🫶🏻

I thought I had come to raft the grand canyon...

but what I didn't realize is that I had stepped into an initiation

a magical rebirth of sorts as I blissfully unaware floated down the birth canal of the united states

because as much as the canyon gives to you,

it will take if not more

it will call you in like a siren,

it will tempt you with its beauty,

it will share it's layers upon layers of wisdom carved over billions of years,

it will speak to you in an energy you can feel more than you can explain,

it will ask you to adapt instead of resist and to surrender all of your control,

and if you think the grand canyon won't change you...

you are just as foolish as I was

because once you push off from the shores of lee's ferry,

there is nowhere to run and nowhere to hide and the only option is to paddle the 225 river miles of emerald green waters stretched out before you

what a beautiful metaphor for life when the only way forward is through and you have to surrender to the unknown by simply trusting in the magic of the present moment

and if you’re anything like holly and I, you might just find yourself spending your time giggling and wooing down the rapids or occasionally riding the bull

our nickname quickly becoming the "woo" girls as our voices echoed off the canyon walls, our inner children completely captivated by river life

we spent our days sharing stories, eating 🍄🌈, swimming, backflippin’ and learning the language of the river,

this trip was not for the faint of heart which we learned as we scouted each *insane* rapid, setting our daily intentions as our river family became encapsulated by a golden ring of light

BLESSINGS!!!! be thy holy water IYKYK

the canyon sure as hell doesn’t care about your comfort or your expectations and you learn to stop resisting every little inconvenience and simply deal with whatever comes

it isn’t meant to be comfortable, it can be exhausting and full of moments that test you

as you experience the good, the bad and the ugly, somehow when all of these moments come together, they become breathtakingly beautiful 🫶🏻

truly a trip of a lifetime and one i'll never forget

in love & rebirth
