Introducing 'FUTON'! 💫✨💚

I'm so proud to share this stunning video made by my friend and trippy genius world creator @rehemoth

He has breathed life and a whole universe into this story! And it's become a kind of surreal love letter to my favourite park in London too ☺️

I had so much fun recording this song with @joe26taylor @g9_luv @j_mitzvah and @callum_mcguinness7 with all my formative 90s rock albums crashing through my heart!

Going out to anyone who has ever felt like a neglected piece of furniture!! 🫶 You can now watch the Full Video and stream it on all platforms - LINK IN BIO 〰️

We hope you enjoy it! xxx

Followed through on my threat to make a Bog Communism propaganda film. Part of Neither Water Nor Land, opening tomorrow in Warsaw at @u_jazdowski

"Roisin Agnew’s ‘Bog Communism’ extends her research into wetlands as sites where ecology, infrastructure, and political economy intersect. Taking the Irish bog as a point of departure, the work traces how landscapes once understood as marginal or unproductive are being reabsorbed into new regimes of extraction—reframed as cooling infrastructures for data centers and folded into the logics of foreign direct investment.

Staged as a propaganda video inviting the viewer to join the struggle for Bog Communism, the film examines how technological expansion often reproduces older patterns of dependency and control. In this context, wetlands emerge not as passive environments but as contested territories, entangled in cycles of abandonment and reactivation, where ecological vulnerability meets the demands of digital capitalism and its geopolitical extensions.

Agnew uses humour and concepts from ‘degrowth communism’ to approach the bog as both material and metaphor: a space that resists clear boundaries, where histories accumulate unevenly and where the future is shaped through processes of slow transformation and sudden acceleration. Echoing the broader concerns of the exhibition, Bog Communism positions the swamp as a site where infrastructure sinks into landscape, and where the language of sustainability obscures more complex dynamics of power, extraction, and militarization."

CULTUS is now up at the @whitneymuseum as part of the Whitney Biennial.

Here’s to the best production team, cast, musicians, everyone involved with staging this work since 2023. Please see my site for full credits, as there’s not enough space to list everyone’s name.

For now, I’d like to shout out the Whitney team for bringing this iteration to life: curators @marcelacguerrero and @drewmsawyer, curatorial assistant @beatrizcifuentesl, exhibition coordinator sage donahue, installation fabricator Reified, the full Whitney A/V team including Michael Gibbons, Eva von Schweintz, @affectedfuture, and many others. To Hanke Vollmer, LED consultant and technician, and @blanca_regina, lead media installation engineer and AV consultant, thank you for your brilliance and coming to spend a week in New York with me installing. Huge thanks and gratitude to my studio manager @talia.anais, who served as project manager, lead researcher, project developer, and editor for CULTUS. Thank you to @canada.council for their support, to @tomorrows_man and @kemperjason, and to @uoftdaniels. Another shout out to the original commissioners of CULTUS @arebyte and @viennasecession; without their support and trust in me, the work wouldn’t exist!
