Mallomar, Romeo, and Big Buddy weren’t brought here just to look majestic and cute. 🐐

They have a job. It’s called goatscaping: eating their way through dense vegetation, including invasive plants, in steep, hard-to-reach areas where machinery can’t easily go. This also reduces the need for chemical herbicides.

And they took their job very seriously.

Here’s what nine weeks of goatscaping looks like. 🌿

We will never forget our handsome Kash roaming the hills of Riverside Park. We are thrilled that he was able to spend his last summer with us and we will miss him dearly.

He lived a long GOAT life and we are ever so grateful to have made his acquaintance. He was looked after with great care and pampered with daily spa treatments with a special comb to comb through his luxuriant locks. With his thoughtful countenance, he warmed all of our hearts.

We wish Kash lush green pastures and the fondest farewell. 🖤🐐❤️‍🩹 Rest easy Kash

The GOATs left this morning, but one thing is for sure, they will not be forgotten. 🥹

The staff and volunteers who have joyfully taken care of them this summer are very sad to see them go. But we will always have the GOATfies, proof that our summer wasn’t just good, it was the G.O.A.T.

Here’s to our Riverside Park GOATs! Please don’t forget us! ❤️🐐

Last but certainly not least, introducing Kash, the GOAT with the luscious locks, long horns, and soulful stare. 🐐

Kash is a majestic cashmere goat (yes like a sweater) who grew up with a horse. You may notice Kash usually hangs out by himself, a lone “horse” among goats. You also may find him behind his favorite tree. 🌳

A handsome charmer who sometimes throws his horns around, Kash is definitely the GOAT with the best hair and horn action! 🤩✨

Goats have extraordinary vision! 👁️

Their unique rectangular pupils give them a panoramic view of about 320–340 degrees, way more than humans. This means while they’re munching grass, they can keep an eye out for predators sneaking up from almost anywhere. And yes… those same survival eyes are also perfect for staring deep into your soul. 👁️🔮🐐

Romeo, oh Romeo wherefore art thou, Romeo? 🐐

On the hills of Riverside Park munching on poison ivy 🌿 and hanging with his best bud, Mallomar. 🐐

Romeo was the GOAT of 2024 🏆 and is still stealing hearts on Riverside Drive.

Romeo was rescued from a hoarding situation and is one of the sweetest GOATs ever. He is of Nubian breed which originated in Great Britain, and are typically bred for milk and meat.

They have a distinctive Roman nose and long floppy ears, which we think Romeo wears quite well.

The GOAT with the most, everyone loves Romeo. 💚
